Molina out of the cleanup spot..
Step in the right direction, but until Molina is batting no higher than 10th, I will not be happy...

Winn now 3rd, Molina 5th. What’s that scraping sound, and what’s with all this ice on deck?

Proof Positive:
Even Bochy no longer thinks that we’re in this thing!

i just read a bunch about line up optimization in “The Book” (pretty good read btw) and off the top of my head this is probably how i’d set the line up. it’s actually pretty difficult to do with how little the team has to work with. Pablo is pretty clearly the clean up hitter, but other than that there’s not much set in stone other than the fact that Bengie should not hit higher than 8th.
1- Torres
2- Lewis
3- Uribe
4- Pablo
5- Garko
6- Rowand
7- Sanchez
8- Molina

actually if Bengie gets on base out of the eighth spot, the pitcher will be unable to sac bunt him to second. Therefore, Bengie should hit ninth. I don’t think he’d like it though.

the book does mention that hitting the pitcher 8th actually can does increase run scoring (assuming an exactly average offense)

That worked out well!
I know you nerds know NOTHING about the real game of baseball, or any other athletic endeavor requiring teamwork under physical stress.

If the team scored all those runs with Bengie out of the cleanup spot, imagine how many they’d score if he was in the cleanup spot!
