Absolutely SICKENED by the Dodgers fans tonight

I was in 110 for game 2 of the Dodger series.  I know it's looking bad but still a huge game.  What do I see?  At least 1/3 of the fans are Dodger fans.  AT LEAST.

Star-divide

I want to say half but that may be exaggerating.  Definitely after the 7th inning there were more Dodgers fans than Giants fans in the stadium.  There were Dodger blankets and flags being flown around... chants of LETS GO DODGERS LETS GO drowning out the Giants fans.

From the opposite side of the park, the bleachers were simply a solid blue color.  It was sad and pathetic.  I wanted to leave.  I felt like I might get in a fight for sporting Giants colors in my own ball park.

What the heck was that?  Why the hell did it happen?  The Dodgers fans completely took over OUR stadium and it was disgusting.  It pissed me off far more than the loss.  Was there some organized effort by Dodgers fans to invade the phone tonight?

It may have something to do with the Giants being sucktacular lately.

I know you nerds know NOTHING about the real game of baseball, or any other athletic endeavor requiring teamwork under physical stress.

There was a reason why you saw mostly Dodger blue. Us disugsted Giants fans left early. We were pissed at Bork. We were pissed at the pitching. We were pissed at the hitting. We didn’t want to stay while Dodgers fans had a grand ol’ time.

I was at the game.

And I stayed all nine innings. You don’t have to watch the game, but I feel sick and guilty when I leave the park early, especially knowing that means there is one less Giant fan to stave off Dodger fans. I booed when bums tried to start “Let’s Go Dodgers”, but it felt physically exhausting to root for this team tonight. At least last night we showed a bit of fight after the septuple switch (also I’m rooting for Frandsen because I have a bet with my dad that he has a better career than Burris).

But yeah consecutive 7-8 run losses can do that.

Good for you for staying.
We have a motto in our house to stay as long as our team is on the field.

Listening to the game, it was odd hearing about even levels of cheering. I was cooking and it really screwed me up because I ended up watching all of the Dodger hits because of the crowd roar.

You have one team in first place, cruising towards the playoffs, and another team fading out of contention in September. It’s not shocking. If the tables were turned, this same scene would play out in Dodger Stadium.

Nauseating? Yes. Surprising? No.

Next season feels like an eternity away, I know, but we will get exact our sweet revenge.

i was at the cain game

same deal. my friends and i couldn’t bear to stay any longer and the dodger fans taunted us as we left. it was pretty lame because we were all excited coming to the game . . . but there was this thing looming over us. at first i wasn’t sure what it was, but i started to become aware that everyone in the group realized that if we didn’t win this game the season was pretty much over.

and so we’re up in the upper deck looking down at the field and schierholtz makes a nice catch to start the game . . . and I just know, “shit, if they score a couple runs this inning it’s fucking over.” And that’s exactly what happened. Top of the first – two runs in for the Dodgers and we’re all like “fuck, how are we going to score 3 runs now?”

of course we stayed around, being it was 2-1. but things unravel for Cain and then Bochy throws up the white flag by bringing in Merkin. Just terrible.

I’ve heard of teams in the NFL making an extra effort to make sure fans of other teams don’t get into their stadium. They try to make sure that all unsold tickets are bought by their own fans and encourage season ticket holders to not sell their tickets to fans of other teams. Of course some get in anyway, but not to the extent we see in this series. However the fact remains that if the Giants’ were ten games ahead of the Dodgers’ their fans wouldn’t be coming up from LA for the series. Perhaps the Giants’ should actually try improving their offense this offseason.

My Dodger fan friend i went to the game with was borderline disgusted re: the other Dodger fans behavior last night, several times muttering “fucking idiots” when other Dodger fans were trying to start shit in the stands. I don’t know, I was in 132 and I didn’t think it was that bad. I thought it was funny. I mean, except that they’re all evil.

When good fans no longer care enough...

Mr. Merope and I had talked about coming in for the 3 day series and everything we’d need to do: getting someone to come feed the cat, reserving a hotel room, and all the other crap that goes into taking a 3 day trip. Then there was the anticipation of the environment and for some reason, I just wasn’t in the mood to deal with all the bullshit involved in going to a dodger game. (Like the time the dodgerdooshes were harrassing the two older developmentally delayed Giants fans, or the thrown peanuts and beer, or other incidents of obnoxious, drunken, loutish behavior.)

It just didn’t seem worth the hassles. Therefore… the 6 tickets we would have purchased off of StubHub were available for dodgerdooshes. Sorry guys, sorry Giants, but considering I’ve spent the whole weekend doing paperwork, and so far, the Giants have spent the whole weekend sucking… I think we made the right decision to stay home.

by Merope on Sep 13, 2009 10:55 AM PDT reply actions

I don’t blame you. We didn’t go to any games this series because at the last homestand vs. the bums, we were really angry just getting to our seats before the game started. Just the confluence of all the bum fans triggered instant anger. i just cannot stomach the bums’ collective sense of arrogance, entitlement and braggadocio. I think you made the right decision.

I hear ya!

About a month ago, my brother had the opportunity to buy tickets to this weekend’s games. I’M SO GLAD THAT HE DIDN’T. We live in Visalia, which is over 225 miles from the park. This makes going to games a major production. Because of this, we usually make a weekend of it (which can be quite expensive). As a result, we usually only make it up a few times a season (less in really sucky years).

The last time that we came up for a series with the Dodgers it was likewise quite unpleasant. It was a few years ago, so I don’t remember the details of how many games we lost in the series. I do know that we had to sit through at least one loss, and it was a miserable, soul crushing experience. There is nothing worse than being surrounded by Damn obnoxious Dodger fans in your own park while your team is losing! It was like sitting through 10 Giants losses in one day; an experience that I haven’t been anxious to repeat…

i was in section 145

RIGHT NEXT TO THE BIGGEST CONTINGENT OF DODGER FANS IN THE WHOLE FREAKIN STADIUM
and i stayed for the whole game. and flipped off a couple of their fans. but there was this one awesome guy that got into a debate (by debate, i mean shouting match) about how the dodgers would just bomb in the first round again (a la sharks). the other dude had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING when it came to comebacks.
and then whenever the dodgers scored, this lame lady did a weird macarena type dance and a bunch of us giants fans just laughed her off. that was pretty much the highlight of the game

Section 115

I was actually pleasantly surprised Friday night, i was expecting WAY more dodger fans. When I went to the game 8/10, it seemed like every bastard in my section had sold their tickets to Bums fans, and it appeared that it was like that most of the way down the first base side

Friday night seemed to have a much larger percentage of Giants fans, and only two Bums fans in our section. I was happy because it was downright embarrassing in August to be surrounded by blue behind home plate in our own yard

We were in View Reserve (nose bleed section) Got last minute seats

and there were a few obnoxious, drunk Dodger fans but for the most part they were drowned out by the Giants fans.

I admit being shocked and a little intimidated (this was my first Giants game hosting the Dodgers) upon driving up to AT&T and seeing so much blue but I kind of went into defensive mode and had an attitude like, this is OUR home and you better step off.

I felt really proud to be a Giants fan! I’ve been to Dodgers stadium a ton of times and it’s always a good time but the intensity of fandom is nowhere near what it is at Giants games.

I went to the Uribe Walk-off and the game before

and I agree that it is a very wierd feeling…its exhausting trying to quiet dodger dumbfucks…its never the regular dodger fans (i can deal with those)that go to these ballgames either, for the most part the ones at AT&T are of the

“we live in livermore and have a picture of manny ramirez on our mantle and everything that he or kemp does is amazing, did i mention i live in the bay area and love the dodgers and bellasario is so good oh my god joe torre makes me orgasm brad ausmus loretta gamer blue”

types…i mean what is that?? Giants for life…its exhausting trying to fight off the blue but it is a valiant fight….

My friends

I currently live in Orange County, just a few miles outside of the criminal empire that is the L.A. Dodger fanbase. Let these dipshits have their fun, their parole officer has to find them eventually.

Dodger fans are THE BIGGEST band wagon fans I have ever met. Something I often do at work (my job requires me to do alot of driving into the heart of the Criminal Empire) is ask a local Dodger fan for “help” with naming the starting pitching staff, starting outfield, lead off hitter etc. Unless the answer is Manny Ramirez, they’re clueless. St. Louis, Philly, or even our starting pitching will slaughter these hacks in the post season and then the fans can go back to a life of shaving their heads, getting tattoos and committing felonies.

Stay loyal, these dipshits are the least knowledgeable fans. The average Dodger fan shows up around the third inning, gets drunk, leaves by the 7th inning (After Manny has been pulled), gets into his Escalade and goes home. As soon as Dodgermania dies down (and it’s defiantly dying down over here), they’ll have nothing.

An excerpt from what I posted elsewhere

“So Dodger fans in droves are making vacation plans around AT&T Park and flood into our city in greater and greater numbers…..really there is only one thing I can think of to do…..make AT&T less friendly to these ****ers……I will be seeking donations to help fund a charity that benefits the underprivileged…..This charity will help fund tickets to Dodger games for Giants fans, as well as some pocket money and a map to the liquor store closest to AT&T…..to qualify, you must be a “Rehabilitating” offender, you must be a diehard Giants fan with a SF Tattoo as proof…. once we get the ball rolling on this, we should not only make these fans lives a little better, but will likely make AT&T a little less friendly "

nearly broke up with my fiance'

i had been drinking and didnt appreciate seeing 3 dodger fans (jackets/hats) sitting on the Bus (30 from downtown/marina) so i did what any true Giant fan would do…hassled them for about 15 minutes until they got off

in any case my fiance’ was too happy the way i was “treating” these dodger fans….ehh i guess there are plenty of fish in the sea

If they were just sitting there, I wouldn't hassle them.

In fact, even if they were being jerks, I’d probably just ask them to stop being jerks.

And I tend to think I’m a true Giants fan.

Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.
