Posey would have let the ball rebound to the outfield hence letting Furcal score from first.

by DJ Tofu on Sep 11, 2009 9:00 PM PDT reply actions

Seriously

If Bochy doesn’t go, do we pretty much have to get rid of Lansford? I know he’s being somewhat usurped by Dunston, but the guys on the team have to know that their plate approach absolutely sucks. Sometimes firing a fall guy sends a message to get it straight, or you’re gonna be gone. They have to do something to get this lineup to hit. Guys like Sanchez, Garko, Panda, Nate, and some of the young kids in the minors can still be saved.

I am reasonably sure that Vin Scully is not a fucking idiot.

I think Posey was the major Giants story at McC. Nationally, the major story is the playoff chase.

You may argue that Scully is not good at his job, or not following baseball, or whatever.

And you will be epically wrong.

Vin Scully sucks

He’s the broadcaster version of overrated vet. He’s fucking Rich Aurilia. He’s awful, his voice is terrible, and he’s boring as all hell. Apparently, he also doesn’t prepare well for series (rivalry series at that). That’s now Joe Morgan territory, but at least Joe can educate on the fundamentals of the game.

Proud father of Juan Carlos Perez. Think Albert Pujols at a position to be determined.

by marcello on Sep 11, 2009 10:05 PM PDT up reply actions

Considering the Giants’ epic fail of an offense up to that point, a sarcastic cheer was most certainly merited. It just so happened that Posey was coming up, and that the cheer was thus honest (or perhaps sarcastically directed at Sabez & Botch, rather than the hitters). I don’t really see how slightly misinterpreting the noise of an opposing team’s remaining crowd makes him worthy of such hate.

But you have some strong opinions, and I apparently haven’t listened often enough or recently enough to see where you’re coming from. I’ve always enjoyed him when I’ve had the chance, though.

To each their own, I guess.
