Drinking the Bork-Aid: Schulman
Wow, just wow. Reviewing the Comickle's pre-season "Five Questions", Schulman talks us out onto the ledge. In particular, the issue of who would man 2B was "less important than others", and as for the management of Bork and Bork...
"New managing general partner Bill Neukom could act on a whim or his gut, but if he judges on performance, both men deserve an extension. The major-league team has won more games than expected and their minor-league teams combined for more wins than any other organization's."

Everyone assumes Sabean and Bochy are getting extensions, but if it were such a sure thing it would have happened already. I recall Sabean getting at least one extension during the season, maybe more. If Bochy goes down in flames the rest of the season with Bengie and Winn in the lineup every day while Posey and Bowker continue to rot on the bench, I can see Neukom calling Sabean into the office and asking him if he was on board with this philosophy. His answer might determine if just Bochy or both of them get fired. Neukom might get some heat for this from a unknowing national media, but no more heat than the Giants’ have gotten for some of the contracts that Sabean has foisted upon his wallet.

This is the thing that the media doesn't seem to get:
Yes, they did better than expected. However, they still could have done better had Borky not made such bonehead decisions down the stretch.

Exactly
They improved in spite of Bochy, not because of him. How is this hard to realize?

Apparently very hard

Minor quibble
‘Bork-ade’
But yes, the winning is in spite of the veteran obsession, not because of it.
Utter frustration and futility.
