7 weeks really isn’t long at all. Hopefully an additional 4 after and hopefully those 4 he is not on the active list.
The suffering IS almost over. There will be some more appearances where we wring our hands and lambast Bochy but then the season will end and he will retire and then come back as a hero.

I’m not willing to throw away 7 weeks of a roster spot to make Aurilia feel better about himself. We’ve got lots of other guys who can come up and maybe have a chance at getting an actual hit off the bench.
The longer he uses up a spot on the bench (or, god forbid, in the starting line-up), the less likely I’ll see him as a “hero” after retirement.
The wild card could conceivably be decided by one game. If our hands are tied because of this guy, it could actually make a HUGE difference in how the season plays out. If we were 20 games out, sure, let him play. But we’ve actually got a chance of making this, and Aurilia will not help.
