To newer McCovenites
Before you start a new FanPost of FanShot about recent developments (trades, roster moves, etc.), make sure to check that one hasn't already been started. With the large number of users on this site, chances are you aren't the first one to break the news.

Sorry
But before an hour ago, I had no idea FanShots even existed. Yes, I was one of the morons who posted a FanPost without knowing that a FanShot has been posted. Seems a little redundant, in that many (not all) of the FanPosts are nothing more than comment starters… which seems to be the case with FanShots. Can somebody explain to a new guy when something should be a FanShot vs. a FanPost? Just don’t want to screw up and incur the wrath of the McCoven again. Thanks.

I agree with you that they do seem a little redundant.
I personally think of FanShots as the place to post links or pictures or anything that doesn’t need much comment from the poster.
FanPosts are more for users to post original content or to let the poster expand on the topic a lot.
In this case, it’s not that the Rios post couldn’t have been a FanPost (it fits either place, IMO), it’s that there was already a thread going on the subject in FanShots.

Okay
Clear as mud. (Kidding, of course)
Thanks for the tip.

Don’t the mods have the ability to eliminate them? Not only that, but the original Rios post should have been a fan post and not a fan shot. That way it would have been noticed by everyone. If you read this site on your mobile phone like I do a lot of the time, you don’t even see the fan shots.
Proud new dad of Edgardo errr Edgar Renteria!!!
Can you also delete the Rios waiver claim?

??
Not only that, but the original Rios post should have been a fan post and not a fan shot.
I don’t get this comment. It was, and should have been, a fanShot, because it’s main thrust was a link to original content from another site (ie. breaking news on the Rios waiver claim). How is that supposed to be a FanPost?

Fanshots are from Mars, Fanposts are from Venus.

I thought MCovenite was the religion that was sorta like Amish, but they can travel on airplanes.

So, FanShots are to Fresno as FanPosts are to San Francisco. Got it.
Is there a secret handshake too?

There's some of us
that no matter how much we look after finding a neat article just can’t find anything similar posted. I think I’ve had most of my fanshots deleted. I search and search and search, see nothing, hit post and all of a sudden there are two or three that have been there for hours. Sorry mods, I guess I have selective seeing when I’m ready to post.
