The Pharoah was his original nickname i thought. At least on the “other” board.

Your co worker did not come up with this nickname.

It dates back at least to Spring training 2008.

IIRC, it was born on the runboards, when I compaired his fantastic facial hair to King Tutankhamun’s golden death mask.

I’m pretty sure if you do a search on this site for the word Pharoah, most of the comments will be about Velez.

http://www.mccoveychronicles.com/search?btn=Go&order=date&q=pharoah&type=Comment

Or, oddle enough, out of 10 comments in the site history that use that word, I made most of the ones that actually have to do with Velez. Interesting.

Was I ahead of my time?

(he does already have really good nicknames, though).

You raise an interesting philosophical question

Can anyone really oddle enough?

Forsan et haec olim meminisse iuvabit... Maybe.

Yes, but it’s very difficult. Usually people either oddle too much or not enough, but rarely ever actually enough. And I should know, as the posterboy for over-oddling.

Brian Sabean strongly encourages you to disregard the drudgery of your employment responsibilities and join him in the consumption of spirituous libations.
