Was she an all american in softball somewhere?

If this “Penny” person can pitch like Jenny Finch, I’m all for it.

The only game I CAN make it to is Wednesday :(

My Bucardo is better than yours.

A hot August weekday, before a small crowd, when the only thing at stake is the tissue-thin difference between a thing done well and a thing done ill. Insofar as the clutch hitter is not a sportswriter's myth, it is a vulgarity, like a writer who writes only for money.

I wish I could say I was sorry, but I can’t

I’m in the exact same boat — coming down from NYC for Wednesday’s game and was all psyched to be sitting along the 3rd base line for Timmy. Either of you guys have any pro tips for a place to have a drink and a bite in the vicinity of the park?

by sularz on Aug 31, 2009 9:37 AM PDT up reply actions

Don’t go to McFaddens (in the park) or Chikkie and Petes. The ballpark is in the middle oh nowhere (kinda), similar to Candlestick. If you want a place to eat and to grab a drink go to National Mechanics bar in old city and then either drive to the game or take the subway

Well, yes and no. I actually attended the game that day. The story is this. A bunch of friends went to a game for the bacholar party (1 start time) and then hung at McFaddens afterwards. One guy (I believe the brides brother) knocked somebodies beer over and a fight occured. Bouncers kicked out BOTH parties, the other party of people was a “field trip” for patron from a bar in N. Kennsington section of Philly (yes, a bar was taking a “field trip” to another bar). In the parking lot the fight continued and the 3 guys ganged up and beat the brides brother to death.

It was really sad. But a law that has been stalled by lobbying, is making headway now. it would require a bar/night club call police for all fights and not just kicking out both parties.

hmm...

Tragic & Interesting

i went to CBP this summer for a Phils vs Orioles game and The whole complex always seemed kind of cool to me. I like how you can get right out on the SEPTA at Pattinson and have easy access to Phillies, Eagles, Temple Football, Sixers, Flyers, Villanova Hoops, Etc….plus Lincoln financial field looks beautiful….

haven’t been to the Linc but it looks nice. Went to a minor league hockey game at the spectrum (the old stadium that the sixers played in) and that was pretty cool

I’ll be there tomorrow night. Can’t wait to watch Sanchez. Didn’t think in April that I’d be writing that in August/September.

ladies and gents, its KINNEY time

But seriously i think it will be Ramon Ortiz or possibly Sadowski assuming we don’t get Penny.

I think this is a pretty big sign we are getting Penny.

Bruce Bochy would like you to look at the career numbers and stop complaining.
