Thought Provoking And Just Dead Nuts Right On
I read Bleacher Report but more often then not I find the articles posted there lame. This one however is about as far away from lame as one can get.

Wow. This is incredible. The writer has basically taken the words right from my brain and put them on paper.
The media had been looking for a way to stick it to Barry Bonds for years and when they stumbled across evidence of him using steroids, they took that ball and ran as far with it as they possibly could. Unfortunately, they didn’t realize that he was only doing the same thing that most of the other stars of the time were doing as well, and that when that information came to light, they would be forced to react to each admission with as much vigor as they had to Barry Bonds lest they appear to be a hypocrite. This has lead to what many would consider to be an inappropriate amount of media attention and energy being spent on steroids in baseball, especially considering that the fans have pretty much indicated that they aren’t really all that concerned about it.
If you want further evidence that the media didn’t really care about PED use even in regards to the breaking of hallowed records, look no further than Mark Mcgwire. The media knew with certainty that he was taking PEDs when he broke Roger Maris’ record, and they basically made it as close to a non-story as possible. It wasn’t until Bonds started hitting homeruns that the media starting caring about the sullying and tainting of their hallowed records.
The playing field is leveling itself.
No asterisk.
