damn, you’re fast. You beat me to the fanshot. I don’t think they were doing it to just to block though. Why wouldn’t the Giants’ need him as much as the Dodgers and Rockies do? Their bullpens aren’t bad either.

It says they did the move partly to block the other teams.
Merkin Valdez? Manuel Mateo? A rose by any other name...
yeah, but my point was that blocking those teams probably never occurred to them. We all know of the ties between Hoffman and Bochy, and don’t you think he would prefer Hoffman over at least some of those relievers he has in the bullpen?

Well, Valdez anyway.
Even taking into account the walkoffs, Howry has been good enough that I’m not sure a 41 year old Hoffman is more than a very slight upgrade.

But it sure looks like Bochy has lost any and all confidnce in Howry.
