I’d rather deal with Velez at 2nd again and have Uribe over at 3rd. Start both Winn and Nate.

I wonder if Velez’s fielding does more damage when he plays left or when he plays 2B?
by Hoist That Rag on Aug 26, 2009 6:32 PM PDT up reply actions
Oh he’s much worse at 2nd. Since he’s been up this time I only recall him being bad in the OF that time they played him in right for some reason (a position he never played in the minors all season). When he’s at second I cringe every time a ball gets hit over there.
Also the 2B gets a lot more chances than the LF.
or because with Garko playing, it would just be redundant to have 2 clean up hitters in a lineup for the Giants.
It’d be a freaking miracle if we even had ONE cleanup hitter.

Baggs was talking about Runzler, which is a little odd, since he’s not on the 40-man. (Sorry Bocock.) Surely Aurilia and Torres. Probably Joaquin, :(owski, Matos and/or Hinshaw, for bullpen help. I would think Bowker and Guzman would be the only non-veteran position players brought up. Pretty sure Frandsen will NOT be called up.
If Frandsen doesn’t get called up I’d ask management to be released or traded or something.

It’s a possibility that the Stinkers could actually miss the playoffs. For the Stinker’s fans that would be like the entire season turning into the game the Giants lost to the Rocks the other day – especially after the great start they got the season off to. The thought of that happening gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

they have to link the new span to the tunnel at Yuerba Buena island
or something to that effect. They cant do that without closing the current east span.
"A foghorn blowing out wild and cold." -Dire Straits
What doesn’t make sense? In order for the new eastern span to actually connect to Treasure Island, at some point they have to redo the area where it goes in the tunnel. They’re doing it now since they’re ready to do it.

Maybe we should try and figure out who is actually playing good defense for the Giants since they would seem to be the minority. So, Reneria and Bengie? Can’t think of anyone else but do give a nod to Schierholtz’ arm.
The two types of crazy people: Dodger fans and those who think Neeley was better than Gillan.
I guess Ishi can be forgiven for that one bad error the other night considering his great defense all year. I have a really hard time ever giving Rowand credit for good defense- the day he hits the cut off I may reconsider.
