Restoring the rosters: No. 15 - San Francisco
not a surprise. Very good pitching, horrible hitting.

Romo is better than a chunk of that bullpen.

Brand new adoptive daddy for the Big Unit. Congrats go out to my son for his 300th win. Only 211 more wins until he catches Cy Young!

the list seems to be a bit biased towards guys with longer major league careers, but you’re right about Romo.

I’m not sure I get the inclusion of Noah Lowry in our rotation. Is that just a “bullpen day”?

I was gonna write a comment on the article itself, but you have to give your email and I don’t wanna…
But does anyone else think it’s pretty bush league to throw a steroid comment in there? None of the previous 14 articles mention steroids in any way, but this one hits us with:
Even worse, it sure appears as though what did develop did so more as a result of steroid use than from any actual instruction in the San Francisco system.
That sure is a ridiculous thing to throw in there like that, whether it has any truth or not. I usually enjoy this site’s writing, but that just seemed like a completely unnecessary low blow to me.

I liked the comment from the guy who thinks Panda isn’t any good. I HAVE NO WAY TO PROVE IT BUT HE SUCKS!!! I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT SO!

I had the same reaction
The weird thing about that sentence is that it implies that it applies only to Aurilia. You’ll see that prior to that sentence he mentions that Richie spent the first 3 years of his minor league career in the Ranger’s system, My question is, did I miss something, because that’s the first rumor that I heard that Aurilia was a steroid guy?

I’ve heard people mention Aurilia and steroids before, mainly only because of that one 37 HR season, and you know, the fact that he played with BLB.
It’s a terribly stupid thing to bring up in the context of this article. Actually, it’s a terribly stupid thing to say, period.

What about Bill Mueller?
Bill Mueller doesn’t get a mention as a player that was signed and developed by the Giants. I realized he’s retired since the end of 2006, but he came up in 1996, for a brief stint, and then went on to have a decent career and win an AL batting title. This guys states that only Feliz and Aurilia were worthy players that SF developed, and that came up in the late 90s.

No but he’s just as bright a future in the game as Noah Lowry does.
Speaking of which, anybody catch the Cathedrals of the Game series on MLB channel? I just happened on the Camden Yards episode the other day, and it so happened they were filming that show on the weekend the Giants were in town back in 2004. All the game highlights are from what, IIRC, was Noah Lowry’s first MLB start. At least that’s what I have written in my scorecard from that game. Seems just like yesterday.
