I was perusing through the Chronicle site and came upon this picture/headline combo. I was easily amused.

He’s actually shaped much more like a meatball than some massive walrus. What the TV cameras/column photos don’t tell you is he’s really short (like, shorter than Kawakami, even… and that dude’s like 5-7

He reminds me of Andy Reid in that picture.
Reid, came into training camp and reported he lost 100 pounds in the off-season and looks the same size as he did last year. (Sorry for the Philly link all the time, I just have to get it out of my system)

lulz
Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.

It’s funny because it’s true. The hat, I mean.

Well , it's a lull.
Howie , I’m interested in becoming a football fan again.
I’m interested in wins…which team’s gonna wins this year – the goldenred or the blackanwhite?
I want to believe in the goldenred because the blackanwhite just seem so…so lost…

Realistically, neither team is probably going to be very good.
Optimistically, the 49ers might be pretty okay.
Optimistically, the Raiders might be pretty sucky.
As much as I hate to say it, Jeff Garcia is a nice Ace in the hole for the Raiders. But I think his experience with Oakland might be more like his experience in Cleveland than his time anywhere else. I’ll pull for the Raiders in a pinch, but that team is a big fat pile of mess. At least the 49ers have a little bit of direction and a few very talented rising stars.

This story of Cable (allegedly) punching a coach in practice is just all kinds of hilarious. Only the Raiders
