they most likely have to pay for it. i have a local cable company that has the home games scheduled in HD but comcast blocks them out since they are a competitor.

My guess: stupidity.

Even if they don’t use the other team’s cameras, I would think that there are some available locally for use. It’s a piss-poor system that doesn’t allow for just universal HD broadcasts of all baseball games.

I do, and every game I’ve seen so far (except, oddly, some of the NBC games) has been available in HD.

Yeah its not for everyone. I think hockey, MMA, and NASCAR suck and I know people would vigorously defend those sports. But as you are probably from California or have some California ties you should be proud one of the most dominant competitors in any sport from any era is a local boy.
