Well, since jcb9 voted for the 22nd but wanted to change to the 18th the vote winds up in favor of September 18th.
Though I'm not unconvinced that there weren't some last minute shenanigans going on. A tie? really?
For those that really DO want to get together on Saturday, there's nothing saying you can't go ahead and meet up Saturday anyways... We can't attend on Saturday, and we probably can't make the 18th; I'm not willing to organize 2 events that I can't attend... so Saturday the 22nd is up to whoever wants to do it.
Closer to the 18th I'll try to get a head count - if there are enough of us, maybe we can get that nifty back room!

Since there were two days that ended up basically in a dead heat and since I seem to recall many people saying "Ugh, not a Friday" or "No, no, not August" let's have a little "run-off" to see which of the two dates works best for the most peoples.
Once we get a date, I'll need to get a rough head count so, if necessary, I can call ahead for a reservation.
Keep in mind too, that the game time on the 18th hasn't been announced yet, I'm assuming it's a 6:00 or 7:00 pm start time.
And I'm still wondering if there is any chance that the Saturday game vs. Cololrado, playoff implications and all, could be moved to an earlier FOX TV time slot? I guess one easy way to answer that question would be to check and see who the Yankees / RedSox are playing at that time!

I’m out for the 22nd as well. I think it’s generally a bad idea to be planning something on such short notice. I realize there was more time when the first thread was posted, but at this point we’re only 9 days away from the 22nd, and it’s pretty likely people are already going to have plans for that weekend (even baseball nerds who live in their moms’ basements).

We should do a McC meetup for all of us who will never make it to the real one (though, like I mentioned in another thread, I actually went to the last McC meetup without knowing). Me, xanthan, aras, and kenshin should hop on a plain to Hawaii or something.

I just realized that one of the dates was a friday. That’s not really a great time for a meet up in the east bay. This was probably already pointed out, though. This Saturday is too soon, as well.

I believe the 19th of September didn’t work because it was in the afternoon. People had commitments etc etc… or maybe it was because it’s now a Fox game…and there’s always the chance that FOX will drop the game and decide to show Yankees vs. RedSox, yes even they aren’t actually playing that day.
Fridays are tough for us too, coming from Sacramento, we’ll be a “game time decision.”
There just weren’t a lot of great dates left by the time it we got the idea to do this again.
Next year, whoever wants to try and organize it could plan for earlier in the summer so more people can attend! This was all very last minute!

The 18th works out really well for me anyway because I’ll be in the Least Bay anyway. I’m going to the Bill Walsh Memorial Game the next day with my crew, but I’ll be in Pittsburg the 18th. So yay!
