Well, he might be 0-3
but I thought he had a couple good at bats tonight. He fell behind both times but took a walk and hit a smash right at somebody.
Of course, I didn’t see his first two at bats. So…
"Catcher are base running. Hitters are offense."
Only [hella] games left until the end of Zito's [no, make that Rowand's] contract.
Adoptive father of "Poncho" Villalona: This Angel don't fly. Nothing about him is light.
That was the least impressive walk ever. He went 0-2, then took one pitch that almost hit him, two that bounced, and one that was a foot and a half off the plate.
And his first AB was as bad as any I’ve ever seen.
Adoptive parent of Noah Lowry.
:-(
We must have been looking at two different at bats, then
The second and third ball both would have been swung at by Bowker last year. They both started out at the bottom of the zone and dipped low.
Not only that, but apparently he swung at some balls in the dirt earlier in the game. To then make the adjustment with two strikes, is actually pretty impressive.
This is just looking for things to complain about, now.
"Catcher are base running. Hitters are offense."
Only [hella] games left until the end of Zito's [no, make that Rowand's] contract.
Adoptive father of "Poncho" Villalona: This Angel don't fly. Nothing about him is light.
In my book, you don’t get credit for not swinging at balls that bounced in front of home plate.
Adoptive parent of Noah Lowry.
:-(
Come one now
Those didn’t bounce in front of home plate.
"Catcher are base running. Hitters are offense."
Only [hella] games left until the end of Zito's [no, make that Rowand's] contract.
Adoptive father of "Poncho" Villalona: This Angel don't fly. Nothing about him is light.
Swinging at any one of those pitches would have been really, really stupid. The best thing you could say about that AB is that he didn’t do anything really, really stupid. That’s not that great a compliment.
Adoptive parent of Noah Lowry.
:-(
Sorry Cookyman
I’m usually fine with your pessimism. But this is over-the-top negativity.
"Catcher are base running. Hitters are offense."
Only [hella] games left until the end of Zito's [no, make that Rowand's] contract.
Adoptive father of "Poncho" Villalona: This Angel don't fly. Nothing about him is light.
I still don’t see how I’m wrong. It’s just one game anyway, so it doesn’t really matter, but this wasn’t in any way a good game from Bowker.
Adoptive parent of Noah Lowry.
:-(
I didn't say it was a good game
I said he had a couple of good at bats. That’s not exactly high praise.
But it is somewhat encouraging.
Anyway,
