Looks like Alderson is crusing today. This team could use a little offensive help from San Jose though.
Only when I am eliminated by MIke Krukow will my life's work be complete
Yeah, two double steals…
I am sure Steve S will mention this in tomorrow’s minor lines.

I think only when the game is NL affiliate v. NL affiliate do pitchers hit, and even then just sometimes.

re
In the Eastern League, pitchers hit when the visiting team is affiliated with a National League franchise.
Interesting
Good knowledge and thanks.

With men on 1st and 3rd and less than two outs, I’m surprised teams don’t double steal more. (With the runner on 3rd delaying until the catcher commits to 2B.)
The ball takes so long to go from the catcher to 2nd base and then back to home that it seems almost easy if you’ve got some wheels on 3rd base. (Provided he doesn’t bite on a deek.)
In order to try for the guy at home, the 2B/SS has to give up on the guy stealing 2nd, so at the very worst you still have a man in scoring position when the play is over.

re
The throw home actually beat the runner in the first double steal yesterday, but Felmy railroaded the catcher and jarred the ball loose.
there's always the old Billy Martin special
guy running from first slips and “falls down”. Man on third runs home. It doesn’t always work, but it doesn’t always fail either.
Giants pitching coach Dave Righetti. "I treat Timmy differently from most pitchers: I leave him alone."
There's 3 ways to do something: the right way, the wrong way, and the Max Power/ Ginats Way...
