I’m really glad to see Peavy out of our division and out of our league. Dude is badass.

Agree. Hooray for not having to face Peavy next year, or risk the Pads trading him to the Bums this offseason

Espically the last part.
That’s it! Katie bar the door for this 79 win team is star crossed! And I am loving it.

This is a deal that I think is really going to haunt the White Sox.

It doesn’t make much sense to me to give up so much for a guy on the DL

I agree...
not because I think that much of what they gave up: Poreda could be very good, but needs to work on his breaking ball, and Richard should prove be a Lannan-esque innings eater for the Pads in that park. The other two are more optimistic shots in the dark.
However, being saddled with 50 million over the next 3 years on an injury prone player (switching from top pitchers park in NL to a top 3 AL’s hitters park) is the real scare, which Im sure you were talking about

Yup
Although I do also like the pitchers they got back, but I admittedly don’t know much about them other than a little about Poreda. I just took a cursory glance at their stats. Considering Peavy isn’t even a bargain the next 3 years, it’s a pretty good haul.

That's good. Hopefully that means we get at least one more win from the Padres then we would have.

LOL at the White Sox
4:12pm: Peavy’s agent, Barry Axelrod, told Tom Krasovic that his client accepted the deal because there was no guarantee that the Cubs and Dodgers, Peavy’s preferred teams, would have made a move for the righty in the offseason. Axelrod knows Peavy’s contract no longer looks like a bargain, so he says he wasn’t expecting a deal.
“Frankly I am flabbergasted that the White Sox would want to make this deal with him in his physical condition,” Axelrod said.

OT
“flabbergasted” has to be one of the best words in the english language for meaning exactly what it sounds like.

Awesome
I always found it hard to root against Peavy when he seems like such a cool guy. Good Luck in Chicago!

same
would have loved to have had him in our system, but since he’s not… better off not only out of the division, but out of the league as well.
how good is the giants' starting rotation? our rotation is so good, our 5th starters throw no-hitters. uh.

Dodgers must be thrilled. He owned them like Maddux owned us over the years.
I am also happy to see him out of our division, but I did love watching Peavy pitch so in that regard I will miss being able to see him as often.

The only thing that sucks is Peavy not playing the Dodgers
As much as he’d own us, he’d own them too, so it kind of evens out.

Lame, I never thought of this. Way to be a buzz kill.

Prospects, smospects. Jake Peavy is an absolute stud, one of the best pitchers in baseball. His injury right now is to his ankle, not his arm. When he comes back the White Sox have one of the elite players in the game. I’m going to go out on a really strong limb here and say that none of those prospects ever get good enough to belong in the same building as Peavy.
