Right on, Rainman! How sick one gets, or should, of hearing people protest about the sanctity of baseball records when those records over time were never park-adjusted, nor adjusted for repeated changes in the juiciness of the ball, the height of the mound, the possible player pool, travel conditions, changes in training, the growth of farm systems, advances in medical treatment, and many other sanctioned disparities. Now it has kept growing clearer that there was nothing more heinous that Bonds did than huge numbers of his contemporaries did, and nothing special about his activities except for his supreme greatness as a player and his penchant for annoying the hell out of the media.

Great post

It’s Art Spander though.

Rafael Rodriguez: #8 on our list, tearing up Scottsdale, and has been alive long enough to see the Warriors make the playoffs once.

Good read – nothing we all didn’t say back in the day. Bonds did not say he didn’t use steroids – he said he didn’t knowingly use steroids, there is a slight distinction there.

My favorite comment from yesterday’s “news” about the leaked 104 was from Tim Kurkjian.

" All this talk about asterisks in the record books has to stop. The 1919 White Sox conspired to throw the World Series for god sakes and they don’t have an asterisk next their name in the record books. All we can do is provide baseball fans the information and let them decide how to view the players of this era. Sammy Sosa hit more home runs than Frank Robinson. With what we know about Sosa, does anyone think he was a better player than Robinson ?"

My adopted son Matt Downs . Ranked as the 24th best prospect in the Giants farm system by Baseball America !!
