I love this site, but this post in particular is a pretty good summary of how I feel.

amen. Im sorry but if we’re so good at ‘scouting our system’ so we knew that tim alderson was not worth more than freddy sanchez then why didnt we know we could have used orlando hudson and adam dunn in the offseason? I have little faith in the giants abilities to appraise their own system.

Case in point, starting the year with burriss at 2nd instead of frandsen. You start the older guy, let him play himself in or out of the role and then move to the next guy. Now we still dont know if frandsen could be an everyday player AND we missed out on the O-Dawg, not to mention we passed on adam dunn so that ishikawa and/or randy winn could get more at bats….

Orlando Hudson would have cost us a draft pick.
Adam Dunn is a butcher on defense.

re: Hudson....

I think anyone would take Hudson, Tim Alderson, and saved money over Sanchez and a 2nd rounder (which is now Joseph).

Now, whether Hudson would have ever signed here is another story, but I really do not think by and large the Giants are very good at evaluating their own guys, otherwise the Burris situation could have been avoided altogether.

I don’t completely disagree. I just don’t think it’s as easy as saying we should have signed so-and-so player.

Yea, but both of them can HIT.

Dunn gives it all back on defense.

at 1B...

he’s still bad, but I think is more tolerable. Still, yes, he’s definitely a flawed, flawed player

Ohhhh

This is about eh Sanchez trade…. ZZZZZZZZZ

Rafael Rodriguez: #8 on our list, tearing up Scottsdale, and has been alive long enough to see the Warriors make the playoffs once.

Wait ’til you see what my post is about tomorrow. FREDDY SANCHEZ TRADE ROCKS SAN FRANCISCO.

I.m surprised no one called him out on this:

we traded our top draft pick from 2007

Team 1st pick =/= 1st round pick

Minor White > Ansel Adams
