Curse Still On: Red Sox World Series Victories Tainted
Just kidding about the tainted thing.
What continues to amaze me is how much better Bonds (in his late 30s/early 40s) was than all of these guys who were doping at the same time. From where I sit, that is some vindication.

But it’s cool because Manny and Big Papi are fun-loving, enthusiastic goofs! They’re absolved from guilt!
Judgment Day has been indefinitely postponed. :(

When the media talks about Manny and A-Rod and (now) Ortiz re: steroids, it’s in that tone like, “Hey, this is kinda weird, huh? Gosh, what crazy guys they are!”
But when the subject is Bonds, it’s as if Emperor Palpatine just killed your puppy.
Actually, I take that back. They don’t talk about A-Rod and steroids anymore.

I was going to post something like this. They’ll forgive Ortiz because he smiles a lot and has a gap in his teeth.

Dear Bill Simmons,
Kill yourself now.
Warmest Regards,

Any type of mongering is A-OK in my book.
Pardon my ignorance, but what did Bill Simmons do?

Oh, and the killing yourself reference probably relates to the book he wrote following the Sox WS victory: “Now I Can Die Happy” (or some such title)

Alternative history
I’ve been wondering about this. If the 2002 World Series hadn’t been cancelled by that regrettable meteorite, and then the Fainaru Wada of it all did its thing, would that hypothetical title be tainted? I’m guessing in our eyes probably not, but for a lot of people it would have been Reds 1919.
