The values are really wonky because of how low leverage the game has been since the middle of the 2nd. For example, Uribe has a positive WPA because of the passed ball.

Fireworks Rosterbation

With bereavement leave over who stays and who goes? SF currently has 13 pitchers and Sadowski has locked down the #5 starter.

Gut sez Sabes is working on a deal to unload a reliever, Downs will be sent down and replaced by Franny.

The Giants made a roster move after the game, optioning infielder Matt Downs to Triple-A Fresno to clear a spot for Rich Aurilia, who had been on bereavement leave. Bochy said Juan Uribe will be the everyday second baseman.

I was at the game

I was never more disgusted than I was tonight. The wave went around about 3 times. I was screaming at the top of my lungs for everyone to sit the fuck down and don’t do the wave. That we were not fucking Dodger Stadium and we’re not LA.

Fortunately, a second wave was attempted and failed big time.

by SFGuy on Jul 3, 2009 11:10 PM PDT reply actions

The wave was mentioned during the game day thread, it was very noticeable during the TV broadcast.
Dumb tourists, at least there were no beach balls.

by Merope on Jul 3, 2009 11:15 PM PDT up reply actions

I realize it was 10-0 at the time but still NO WAVE.

by SFGuy on Jul 3, 2009 11:28 PM PDT up reply actions

It wasn’t the normal Friday night crowd, due to the fireworks.

That said, the wave still manages to get going way more often than it should.

I did not stand up. And I Forced my wife to hold the baby down. There was a dodger fan in my section too. He was boo’d loudly.

I was booing him, what a douche, it seems like there’s always one Dodgers fan over there who shows up and shows off his hat in the 8th inning.

The wave was fucking awful, I hate that they do it successfully once and THEN KEEP GOING OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. AAAARGH SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP.
