The values are really wonky because of how low leverage the game has been since the middle of the 2nd. For example, Uribe has a positive WPA because of the passed ball.

It’s because the basketball people are bandwagon fans much more than the baseball guys are. I was in the dorms for the 2004 playoffs (in basketball) and there were Kings fans everywhere. Three years later, you couldn’t find one, but Warriors fans were shockingly everywhere. But there were still people representing the Giants even though they weren’t good.

LOL Astros' announcers
I just remembered I was watching an early season Dodgers-Astros game and one of them remarked that Chad Billingsley’s best game this season was against the Giants. The other idiot replied that alot of pitchers will pitch their best game of the season against the Giants this year because the Giants can’t hit. They must feel really stupid tonight.

GIANTS WIN!
Jonathan Sanchez. He's left-handed, like Barry Zito. His fastball breaks 80, unlike Zito.

The Giants made a roster move after the game, optioning infielder Matt Downs to Triple-A Fresno to clear a spot for Rich Aurilia, who had been on bereavement leave. Bochy said Juan Uribe will be the everyday second baseman.

I was at the game
I was never more disgusted than I was tonight. The wave went around about 3 times. I was screaming at the top of my lungs for everyone to sit the fuck down and don’t do the wave. That we were not fucking Dodger Stadium and we’re not LA.
Fortunately, a second wave was attempted and failed big time.
by SFGuy on Jul 3, 2009 11:10 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
The wave was mentioned during the game day thread, it was very noticeable during the TV broadcast.
Dumb tourists, at least there were no beach balls.

I realize it was 10-0 at the time but still NO WAVE.
by SFGuy on Jul 3, 2009 11:28 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
It wasn’t the normal Friday night crowd, due to the fireworks.
That said, the wave still manages to get going way more often than it should.

I did not stand up. And I Forced my wife to hold the baby down. There was a dodger fan in my section too. He was boo’d loudly.

I was booing him, what a douche, it seems like there’s always one Dodgers fan over there who shows up and shows off his hat in the 8th inning.
