All right, which one of you mooks HOPED

This is the kind of thing that gets to me.  YOU ARE GIANTS FANS.    There is no hope, no salvation, no light at the end of the tunnel (maybe an on rushing K-Ingleside with an unconscious driver...).    Remember 2003?  2002? 2000? 1997? 1993?  1989?  1987?  1962????

It's hopeless.  We are doomed to have our spirits crushed.  Again.  Further.  Just when you thought that there was nothing left to crush.

This team (2009) cannot hit.   It has one great starter and one damn good one.  The back of the rotation is shaky, and the bullpen is way over it's head.   If we do make a move, you can guarentee it will destroy the future team and probably not work.

Now let's BRING BACK THE PESSIMISM!

This FanPost is reader-generated, and it does not necessarily reflect the views of McCovey Chronicles. If the author uses filler to achieve the minimum word requirement, a moderator may edit the FanPost for his or her own amusement.

The train wreck that emerged from the all-star break has made me sad. The seemingly random roster moves, the uninspired play…gah. Bochy calls Matt Downs “Downsie”, for fuck’s sake! I’m officially off the deep end.

I blame it on all of the optimism (at the time)

We should have known that this team would crush our spirit as soon as we started to experience hope and pride…

I still hope. I do every game until the final out, and every season until the
math lowers the boom or I’m swillin a bottle of Ca sparkler at the yard.

when the Giants win 10 of 12 again, and pass the Rockies. Bumps happen…the best part is, before the season everyone here would’ve been over the top thrilled to be where the Giants are right.

GIANTS FANS OVER-REACT?

Hmmm, me thinks that statement is an oxymoron. Or maybe I’m just a moron for being an eternal optimist, but I look at it this way; I’d rather walk around planning for the best than expecting the worse, it makes the wait in between the unknown and known less miserable.

My two favorite teams are the Giants, and whomever is playing the Dodgers!

by World Series or Bust on Jul 22, 2009 1:23 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I used to be more optimistic; then I got tired of being constantly disappointed.
Now I’m more of an “expect the worst, hope it doesn’t come to that” type person.

They’re offense is so bad that I can’t see even a Freddie Sanchez or even a Matt Holliday making that much of a difference. Is it out of the question for Posey to be on the 2010 opening day roster? Which prospects do you think could start as early as next season?

I thought it was…

Those whom the Gods with to destroy the first make all powerful.
Since the Gaitns are not all powerful thus the Gods do not wish to destroy them.
Ergo The Gods want them to continue.
If the Gods want them to continue the must love them.
Ergo Sum The Gods love the Giants because they have not made them all powerful!!!!

Perhaps only the Nats and the Padres are only loved more!
