Checking in while at work...
The play-by-play said that Panda struck out bunting foul with two outs and runners in scoring position. Is that correct?!
Proud member of the Adopt-a-Giant program (Aaron Rowand)
Whew
Thanks, what really happened in the inning?
Proud member of the Adopt-a-Giant program (Aaron Rowand)
Ah, thanks
I mean, it’s not like that’s good, but my baseball crush on Panda was going to take a pretty severe beating if he struck out bunting foul in that (or any) situation.

Romo must be hurting.

So wee should sell Molinia & Winn?

Winn has value. Maybe not huge, but the Braves and the Red Sox would want him. Mets too.
by North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan on Jul 20, 2009 6:18 PM PDT up reply actions
I don’t doubt that he does, but I’m not confident that other teams see any value in him.
Judgment Day is coming

He’s good, not great, offensively and defensively, and he has a good contract. I’m betting that even teams that are looking for Veteran Savvy will want him

Winn is a plus-plus defender in the OF
there is a ton of value in that.
He’s not a plus-plus CFer – adequate, but not great. You’re right – as a RFer he’s excellent.

Romo
Well, that ought to quell as the “WILSON SUX!!! ROMO SHOULD CLOSE!” posts around here for a while.
Giants win the pennant ... in 2012!!
If Wilson pitched like Romo everybody would be calling for his head.
Bruce Bochy would like you to look at the career numbers and stop complaining.
Yeah ...
I don’t get all the anti-Wilson sentiment around here.
(Maybe it’s just an anti-closer sentiment because we all know anyone can pitch the 9th.)
Giants win the pennant ... in 2012!!
There’s bad, and then there’s really bad. He’s either really unlucky or hurt, and he didn’t look that bad. Even bad relievers don’t give up that many runs.

What the hell is with Romo now?
This is extreme regression here.
Jonathan Sanchez. He's left-handed, like Barry Zito. His fastball breaks 80, unlike Zito.
It must either be horrible luck or an injury, and he didn’t look that bad. Diaz had a great AB.

That’s exactly right. I think my ex-HS teammate could call games better than that. Probably put up a better OBP too.
Didn’t Romo tweak his ankle yesterday?

I would really like to see him replaced with somebody better
that might be a good spot to upgrade through trade if we go that route
the entire giants’ outfield sucks. i like winn for his defense and he went to santa clara but his hitting is pathetic.
No one here gets out alive.
Well they do already have Bowker, but then I suppose 1B needs an upgrade
by North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan on Jul 20, 2009 6:37 PM PDT up reply actions
there has to be something severely wrong with the giants organization, theres no way a reasonable team drafts this many hackers and can’t fix a single one
What about Bowker?
He made a radical change this year, and now he only has 23 PA at the major league level and a .182 BABIP. Give him more than 4 games
by North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan on Jul 20, 2009 6:39 PM PDT up reply actions
I like Bowker
I’d rather not see us waste ABs on Schierholtz, who has very little upside. Bowker should be starting everyday.
i completely agree. i am done with schierholtz if he refuses to take a pitch.
No one here gets out alive.
His walk rate was atrocious in the minors
This shouldn’t shock anybody

that puts winn in center and bowker and flew in the outfield. kind of dangerous defensively.

Bowker’s fine in LF. He’s not the second coming of Carl Crawford, but he is by no means terrible

It’s no fun listening to the other broadcast when you’re losing and they keep showing replays of your team getting its brains beaten in.
Actually Kruk and Kuip are doing a great job keeping me watching this…nevermind. Broadcast is now shut off.

when was the last time we hit a homerun?
by sadison bummedgarner on Jul 20, 2009 6:43 PM PDT reply actions
Rowands injury means Frandsen gets sent down instead of Bowker.
Frandsen = no luck at all
The King Of Bling
Why? Even if Rowand goes on the DL we have Bowker, Winn, Schierholtz, Lewis, and Torres. No need for more OFers
