Some newsworthy (troubling) things in the article.

No. 1- He's discussed his "role" in the second half with The Bruce.

No. 2- He thinks he should be playing everyday. Or something.

“He understands I’m in a role I’ve never been in before, not getting a lot of reps,” Aurilia said. “It’s up to me to adjust. I know I can still hit and still play. The opportunity to play consistently is not my decision. It’s their decision. But I know I can help this team win.”

So Aurilia blames sucking on being in a role hes never been in before?

Does he realize that is the way he is going to be used on this team? Does he expect Sabean or Bochy to be like “oh you are sucking because youre not used to being used off the bench or starting against lefties? Ok we’ll just start you full time then”

If hes saying hes not doing good because hes not use to being used only against lefties then hes kind of hurting himself by saying that, because that IS how he is going to be used.

If you are not performing with the way we are playing you, then why should we not drop you Richie?

Dave Roberts his ass!

He brought this on himself. At least they appear to be considering it, finally!

a google search of "aurilia fail" brings up this...

I found out that if u get your costume in tatooine mos eisley, then you take a aurillian transport to aurillia your costume does not come off!!

I was salacious crumb in aurilia!

from Aurillia you can use the contact guy and go to Lok, Dathomir, Tatooine, Naboo! and still have the costume!

…………
i believe “i was salacious crum in aurilia!” is a beautifully crafted sentiment. Don’t know what it means, exactly, in a non- star wars application, but I feel it fits nonetheless.

Aurilia offers Bruce Bochy salacious crumbs

In his bid to stay on the team. Bruce Bochy’s mouth waters.

Hooray! SF Gate commenters!
Rich Aurilia has been a class act throughout his career, especially his stints with the Giants. Nobody who was a starter through most of his career is happy when not playing regularly, but Aurilia has accepted his role and done whatever has been asked of him, without ever publicly complaining. If his days with team are indeed coming to an end, his departure should be handled with the same class and dignity he displayed while wearing the Giants uniform. Here’s hoping Richie can finish the season with this team and then decide for himself during the offseason what his playing future is. He deserves that right.
Freddy L. made a pinch hit appearance on Sunday and promptly struck out. He’s probably out of options, so my guess is he’ll be DFA’d soon. At least he should be.
So no mention of releasing Zito?

I like how we’re supposed to give Richie credit for taking a bench role. Like that wasn’t what he got a freakin MINOR LEAGUE CONTRACT for and like he would be starting on any team in the entire major leagues. Fuck, like he’d be good enough to even sit on the bench for any other major league team that doesn’t have the “history” factor with him.

And yes, a player with an ERA under 5 is totally worth of being released.

I loved the comment about Aurilia is the type of guy the Giants will want to have come September. And he’d lose Lewis and Howry before Aurilia.

Only [hella] games left until the end of Zito's [no, make that Rowand's] contract.

Tomorrow Dasowski will be called up and somebody has to go. In all likelihood a position player.

Lewis- I don’t think they’ll DFA him but a trade is an option, but probably not by tomorrow.
Frandsen-You’d think they would have to give him a shot to stick this time.
Torres-Has played pretty well. Can run and has played good defense.
Whiteside-Don’t think they would want to make Pablo the backup catcher.

Is there anybody else? Am I missing something? Who goes bye-bye if it’s not Richie?

I have lots of hopes as well. Can I add them to Aurilia’s list?
