Today’s LOLineup, per Baggs:

CF Rowand
LF Winn
3B Sandoval
C Molina
RF Schierholtz
SS Renteria
1B Bowker
2B Frandsen
P Cain

Which, btw, does a fine job of not featuring Rich Aurilia.

I know it’s not at the very top of the list of stuff we need, but the Giants could really use another OF/1B who can hit lefties.

Rowand and Schierholtz can sort of do it, and I guess maybe Torres.

I’ll settle for a manger the thinks getting outs in the #2 spot is most of the way to “getting productive outs” and “productive outs ”is all you need in the #2 spot.

Bowker 1B sighting
Frandsen sighting

Giants actually face good pitcher today. I could make some ironic statement about how now they should hit, but what’s the point?

6 runs in their last 40 innings for those keeping score at home.

yeah, Richie’s not much better defensively, plus he’s made out of roasted bread.

Both Bowker and TI can’t lay off that low breaking ball, might as well use the one that can catch the damn ball.

Randy Winn is in time out until his OBP gets back over .330.

by oldjacket on Jul 19, 2009 9:35 AM PDT up reply actions

Consdiering Renteria bounces about 60% of his throws over to 1st I agree. I would have preferred they sit Winn, Bowker in LF, Nate in RF, Ishi at first. Or even Nate in Rf, Lewis LF Bowker at 1st. have Bowker or Renteria of Lewis hit #2 . I am not saying it would work but at least it is different approach then the one that has been mass producing extreame fail v s LHP.
