Just because in 3 weeks someone will ask "What happened to McPherson?" and I'll remember that I'd read something somewhere and won't be able to relocate it:

It wasn’t believed to be season ending, according to VP Bobby Evans, so there’s a chance he could appear in box scores at some point before the raisin harvest. Josh Phelps remains out while rehabbing his shoulder, too.

how long did they wait before he had this surgery? The guy’s been out for months already. If they had done it earlier he would have been back by now. (no pun intended)

Also heard on the pre game show that Randy Johnson will be out at least 3 weeks, not sure when they started the calendar on that though.
