Jason Schmidt will be called up to start for the Fodgers this Monday against the Reds. I hope that he stays healthy, but has a terrible W/L record - while further goading Torre into beating his bullpen like a dead horse.

Imagine if Schmidt was the Schmidt of the mid 2000’s during his contract, yikes. But in that alternate reality, Barry Zito is good. I would probably take it.

Hopefully this signals the beginning of the end for the Dodgers pitching.

I loved Schmidt.

No , really.
Cards , flowers , the whole stalking thing.
I never want to see him pitch against us.
I’ll take steps , I mean it.
I’ll even go so far as to actually get up and walk away from the computer.

I love Schmidt too

Signs a big contract with the Dodgers and has given them a total of 1 win. Double agent all the way.

that is all

I’m surprised. I thought Schmidt’s career was pretty much over.

by SFGuy on Jul 19, 2009 12:50 AM PDT reply actions

does this somehow mean that his career isn’t pretty much over?

by FluLikeSymptoms on Jul 19, 2009 1:08 AM PDT up reply actions

Basically, what I meant was: isn’t Schmidt’s career over?

by SFGuy on Jul 19, 2009 1:44 AM PDT up reply actions

I always loved Jason Schmidt as a Giant, but he’s a Dodger now and I have to root against him. I give him credit for fighting his way back and not just sitting on his ass collecting that money. Hopefully he’ll bounce back next year with another team, but for the rest of this year I hope he stays healthy and stinks to high heaven.

Do you think he would sign a minor league deal with us?

Proud father of Barry Zito. As long as he keeps throwing strikes, that is.

Depends on how he does for the rest of the year. If he continues to scuffle, then sure.

I would trade Zito for Schmidt straight up.

My cat used to do that, and he hated Schmidt.

I miss Choi Hoon's MLB Afternoon

He was doing a KBO cartoon there for a while, but I haven’t seen anything new in a while.
