Thoughts and prayers for Sue Burns
This was a fanshot from SofaKingMike:
I was listening to Krukow's segment on KNBR this morning, and he said that Senior General Partner Sue Burns has become very, very ill all of a sudden. Kruk's tone was pretty serious. My thoughts and prayers go out to Sue. Get well soon.
I'm moving it up to "Fanpost so it gets the attention it derserves. As the beloved matriarch of the Giants team/family, I think we all hope for the best. I heard Kruk on the radio this morning as well and it doesn't sound good. He said she's in the hopsital and might not be leaving.

I wish her all the best and hope to see her back in the front row soon!
Meet my new son: Sundrendy Windster, coming soon to a minor league near you.
This now a WS or bust season. I just hope she gets to see a championship.
P.S. Thanks for keeping the team here and my A’s guardian!
Minor White > Ansel Adams
I used to (very) occasionally get seats right next to the owners’ row and I can tell from personal experience that she is a really good, nice person and also a great fan.
My most positive thoughts and wishes go out to her and her family.

The strongest force in the universe is back in the big leagues, brother. So whatcha gonna do, Russell Martin, when the walks, the dingerz, and the power of Bowkermania run wild on you?

I heard Kruk this morning as well, for some reason the news really upset me. [We’ve had a ton of “celebrity” deaths lately that I didn’t bat an eyelash over. Hearing that Ms. Burns was seriously ill got me all choked up.]
Apparently whatever happened was sudden, and when they updated the situation around 9am the phrase used was “she is in grave condition.”
Positive thoughts are headed her way.
I think the fact, not only does she plays a major role with the whole franchise, but she’s one of us.
A longtime and die hard fan.
I was a bit somber on my way to work. When I heard Kruk talking about Flemming going to visit her and he was visibly shaken, I felt a bit sad. I’ve been fortunate to meet her and Magowan at the same time. If you ever get a chance to start a conversation with her, she really is one of the most remarkable people you’ll ever get to know.

Had just a little interaction with her, and you can tell she loves the game, loves the team, and loves the fans….
Get well soon GFan #1, Sue Burns

I had know idea she’s only 61; now I’m even more bummed.
I hope she beats this thing, but reading between the lines, that may not be in the cards. I at least hope she’s comfortable and surrounded by family and friends.

When cancer is detected as a result of back aches, the tumors tend to be in places that are just awful. That would fit with the ‘grave condition’ and Baggs’ comment about ‘late-stage’ cancer, which in between the lines likely means a metastasis, other very bad things, and why I can’t say “get well soon.”
I hope she’s resting comfortably and that the team keeps doing well this year, because there’s nothing like baseball to keep your spirits up.
Amen.

Pretty young all things considered. I too was greatly saddened by seeing that. Here’s hoping CHW pulls out a miracle. Or they can get off the scoreboard. Git R Done St. Mary’s.

Frank McCourt as well
In an unfortunate coincidence, Dodgers’ owner Frank McCourt has meningitis brought on by skin cancer and is near death. Even though he’s a Dodger, prayers go out to him and his family.

Not that McCourt
The author Frank Mccourt is ill, not the Dodgers owner.

Mrs. Burns, Please RIP
I have been avoiding writing anything about Mrs. Burns because it is very emotional for me. I got to know Mrs. Burns on a personal level. She was a math teacher at Woodside Priory School when I was a student there from 1991-1995. It is a small private school where everybody knew each other on campus (the entire school 7-12 had about 200 students total). Mrs. Burns was such a charming, energetic lady and if you didn’t know who her husband was, you would never guess she was wealthy. She was easy to talk to, genuinely cared for everyone, and I will always remember her fondly.
No, I do not want a new adoptee. If it’s alright with all of you I am leaving my sig as is for the rest of the season. She was not a random pick, I think she was a great lady.
You think your a fan? You got nothing on my adopted daughter Sue Burns, now she's a fan. 4 out of 5 doctors agree Rosterbation can cause blindness and delusions of grandeur.
