Probably should have been Yovani Gallardo.

Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.

Gallardo is starting today. Maybe that was a factor.

The Pirates now have more all stars than we do.

Surprised he didn’t pick Hamels… and I would have rather seen Gallardo.

Zack Duke: More deserving than Pablo Sandoval.

Proud father of Barry Zito. As long as he keeps throwing strikes, that is.

And Trevor Hoffman replaces Broxton. Nothing for Wilson.

Sir Alex Omar Hinshaw: It's not right if it's not left.

that’s a joke. Hoffman has good numbers, but if a Giants’ pitcher can’t make it, and there’s another Giants’ pitcher with all star type numbers, why wouldn’t you pick him?

agreed

how good is the giants' starting rotation? our rotation is so good, our 5th starters throw no-hitters. uh.

I don’t think it’s relevant. If a guy gets injured, you pick the next best player.

Bullshit timing

That’s totally fucked. Sorry about that, but what shitty timing to take one on the elbow. Cain should have been throwing in the game. Fucking stauffer, or however it’s spelled can eat a bag.

Matt Cain: throwing complete game shutouts since 06'. No big deal.

by cain1rstballothof on Jul 12, 2009 10:24 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Meh, Cain will still be there.

by Natto on Jul 12, 2009 12:49 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah I'm confused

Will Cain still be at the festivities, i.e. being introduced on the field and stuff?

Yes, players always go when they’re injured to get introduced.

So i guess he’ll be going and i think it implies he’s going to be introduced and etc.(otherwise i don’t know why he’d go)

This is actually all I care about. All-Star games always bore the hell out of me, but I always tune in to watch our guys get announced

To be honest, I’m kinda glad he won’t have to pitch now. I’d prefer Tim wouldn’t be allowed to pitch either. But at the same time it’d be fun to watch Timmy K 6 straight AL batters.

I’d rather he throw than get hit in the elbow.

Bruce Bochy would like you to look at the career numbers and stop complaining.

by cheno on Jul 12, 2009 2:57 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

At this point, I don’t care anymore.

by Natto on Jul 12, 2009 6:40 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

there is no way Cain could have just gone and not pitched

then the NL would only have 12 pitchers, and there is no way you could get through a 9 inning game with only 12 pitchers.

by FluLikeSymptoms on Jul 12, 2009 10:14 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Well he's still going

He just won’t be on the roster.
