I debated whether or not I wanted to post this, because of the likelihood that I would just spew uninformed rage. They're doing a better job of discussing it at Halos Heaven than I would have done, so I'll direct the link there rather than to the actual article I read.

I only post because I think there are people who would like to know how the exceedingly tragic Nick Adenhart saga is progressing.

Gallo did a very bad thing, and is probably going to spend the rest of his life in jail. That does not mean the he doesn’t deserve a fair trial. I’d grant the motion for a change of venue.

Why? It’d be a jury of his peers. It’s not like he’s a black guy in 1920’s Alabama or something.

Do you really think that the fact the victim was a beloved local sports figure isn’t at all likely to affect the jury?

Yeah

A change of venue seems like a legit request to me. I also don’t think that it will change much; there isn’t a lot of sympathy for drunk drivers.

Didn’t the guy at Halos Heaven post the guy’s home address and encourage his readers to go and harass Gallo’s parents?

That’s really lame.

I really hope not

if he did, that is really disgusting. Granted it seems like Gallo did something despicable and unforgivable but I’m sure his family is totally devastated as well.

Seriously, has anyone seen my adopted brother?

Yes

But he pulled it down after getting a lot of heat for it.

I posted link to a report from a local newspaper's site that had reported it

I reiterated their report in my post (which included a detailed description of Gallo’s family’s house). And a few hours later I pulled down the post.

Pretty shitty. They’ve shown the guys face on the news recently.

The candle memorial thing some fans put on the corner of the sidewalk was removed after about 2 weeks after the accident. It was a pretty sad sight. Drove by one day and saw a young boy and his dad put a stuffed animal on the memorial (I assume it was a Rally Monkey, couldn’t tell while at the stop light). They appeared to be pretty distraught.

A real shitty, shitty situation.
