yes of course
This is the springtime of my loving-
The second season I am to know
You are the sunlight in my growing-
So little warmth Ive felt before.
It isnt hard to feel me glowing-
I watched the fire that grew so low.
Easily one of my favorite Zeppelin songs

Thank you for not saying “by far one of my favorite.” That construction annoys me.

Can’t beat it live when they were playing it after The Song Remains The Same. Plant’s scream that just fades away into the first notes of it. Amazing.

His voice is horrible now. He really ruined it around 72-73 too. Shame, if he’d learned to control it earlier in his career his voice could have still had the same wailing later in his career.
At their O2 reunion gig most of the songs even had to be tuned down for him to hit any notes.

by Lars The Wanderer on Jun 5, 2009 7:43 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Lewis is league average. Can was agree on that (he’s league average offensively, and I still don’t understand if you disagree with my comment about his defense). Positions at which the Giants do not project to have a leage average player last year: 1B, 2B, SS, RF, C. All much bigger problems than LF.

It isn’t the biggest concern, but it is a concern and it shouldn’t be ignored.
To be honest, his defense sucks. Anyone willing to overlook his lack of instincts that are hiding behind his speed is fooling themselves. He isn’t going to be fast forever and is already having problems with his feet.
by Lars The Wanderer on Jun 5, 2009 7:51 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
He has speed now. In the outfield speed can get you a lot more outs.
Carlos Lee basically catches everything hit to him, but I doubt anyone would argue he’s a better outfielder than Lewis.
Randy Winn is going to catch that. And he'll do it real classy-like too.

Many would argue that. They’d just be wrong.

:-(
by Cookyman on Jun 5, 2009 7:53 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
And by the way, “his defense sucks because he’s going to lose his speed” isn’t even a logical argument. If you’re saying that he’s an average player now but won’t be in the future, that’s something else. What will happen to his speed in the future is irrelevant to how good he is now.

Adoptive parent of Noah Lowry.
:-(
by Cookyman on Jun 5, 2009 7:46 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Here is what I think: Lewis is not a prospect. People shouldn’t look at Lewis and think, “Well, he will get better”. He isn’t going to get better. What we see is what we are going to get.
Meh = not great but it will do for now. As I said, there really isn’t anyone on the roster better right now. But Fred shouldn’t be considered the LF of the future.
by Lars The Wanderer on Jun 5, 2009 7:48 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
He’s average, and he costs nothing. That’s a nice thing to have. Not great, but nice. 1B, 2B, SS, C, and maybe RF are all much bigger problems.
