Has gotten a hit in 20 out of his last 22 games.
39-34 - Giants Series Record: 14-7-3, 10-2 at home
Adopted Giant: Daryl "Dealio" Maday - Mediocre outing. Continues to be a meh pitcher.
his .408 wOBA is the highest in the majors
(tied with Longoria)
Jonathon Sandoval, on the other hand, is not a very good pitcher

One of the reasons I could kinda justify being interested in trading for clement would be that the situation could be similar to when the Indians traded for kelly shoppach a few years ago. If you end up hitting on him, you’ll either find ABs for him or make a trade .

But he has already had 1 knee surgery. The limmits him mostly to 1st in my mind for the immedate future anyways. I am not against Clement just not as hot to trot was even at the years start. Ishi is beginning to make me think he could be more than just stop gap on a bad MLB team.
Now days I am more intrested in SS, 2nd as dire need spots. And I still don’t trust Rowand in Cf for the medium term.

I agree with everything you said. I’m not excited to the point that I think we have to get him. I just like the idea of this team buying low on one or two fallen prospects, such as brandon wood or Clement. If the mariners were to take, say Pucetas and Matos for him, I wouldn’t say no. But I would, as you said, focus my resources on getting a decent SS and 2B.

righties and lefties
nice to see some Lewis and Nate and Downs in the lineup. And I like the way Bochy uses day games after night games to try odd arrangements, like Nate cleaning up.
Complaint: Some managers make a point of alternating righty and lefty hitters somewhat to make it harder for a specialist to come in as a reliever. But nope, we got 5 lefties and switchies, then 3 righties, 2 of em real light on experience.
cheering for Adam Witter, who will hit bigleague dingers some day.

Beggars and choosers.
When it comes to offense wereare beggars. And If it improves the offense we (I) don’t complain. I.E. notice I have not ranted once how much more effect Rowand’s hot streak would have been in the #3 spot? That is because any improvement – no matter how weird- is welcome.

every time Omar had an 0 fer, we would have said how horrible of a signing it was. It is easy to say omar would have been great here, but he only has to play 2-3 games a week in Texas, which keeps his legs fresh. I doubt he would have done as well here, having to play every day.

Cabrera, but he’s also sucked.
Or we could’ve gotten a second baseman and put Burriss at short, in which case short would be an even bigger problem but second might be better.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that pie > cake, that Bochy is endowed by his creator with certain undeniable traits, that among these are veteran man-love, a gigantic skull, and the pursuit of the double switch.

By the way, if anyone was curious as to why Sadowski was chosen to start, Baggs has some insight:
One of the commenters here brought up a great point about Sadowski: The Giants probably brought him up because they don’t intend to keep him on the 40-man roster for long, and he’s a guy they could probably get through waivers.
If you call up Tim Alderson, for example, he’s pretty much on the 40-man roster for good. That would give the Giants less flexibility when they look to add potential players in trades. And after the season, they’d have one fewer spot when they’ll look to protect guys who’d be eligible for the Rule V draft.

Well Lewis does need to be more aggressive sometimes. Watching strike 3 go by happens too often with him.

I love when people make fun of advanced defensive metrics when the traditional ones are so obviously dumb.

This doesn’t really have much to do with whether the traditional metric is dumb, though. That’s a case of the score keeper being dumb.

I didn’t say there was a perfect way to do so. But, because of dumb score keepers and other things, errors aren’t a very good way to tell who’s a good defender and who’s not.

That was pretty cool.

ah.. thats why pablo didn’t hit a home run today. he was afraid of sharting.
No one here gets out alive.
seriously i think old men on the giants just need lots of extra days off.

Brewers announcers just called Papa Dubs “one of the game’s best closers.”
39-34 - Giants Series Record: 14-7-3, 10-2 at home
Adopted Giant: Daryl "Dealio" Maday - Mediocre outing. Continues to be a meh pitcher.
Well coming into yesterday, he has 13 runs / 34.2 innings, and an FIP of 2.8. Technically he is one of the game’s best closers right?
Really
I know I’ve been one of his big detractors, but yesterday notwithstanding, he’s had a solid year. And I didn’t watch the inning, I was walking the dog, but my dad made it sound like he was victimized by a bit of poor defense.
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
PABLO SANDOVAL AM STEAL DEATH, DESTROYER OF WORLDS.
he was facing the 7-8-9
went to 3-2 count to CRAIG COUNSEL. Followed that up with a walk to Gamels. It was his own fault.
The quest is whether he is as good as his numbers show or is his numbers just a result of SSS and due for a crash.
I dunno, he clearly has the ability to strike out batters at an above average level. The question is whether or not he can throw strikes consistently. Before yesterday, he had begun to do that. We’ll see if he bounces back from last night or goes into a spiral.
I mean, even last year, his peripherals/FIP was a lot better than his actual ERA.

That tard Michael Urban actually brought up a good point that Wilson seemed to be nibbling and didn’t use his fastball enough.
But then he went to trash Renteria for being an awful signing and hating that a SS who couldn’t hit or play decent D. Well how about your butt buddy Zito Mr. Urban? He is the dictionary definition of AWFUL signing. That shit made me want to smash my radio. I miss Bruce Magowan… :(
it's funny when he and rod brook talk in the post game
There is no middle ground between the two. The world is crashing down for one guy and everything looks bright for the other.
ripping on the Zito signing at this point is beating a deadhorse.

He was pretty okay doing the Sportsphone stuff on the weekends, not so much as play by play guy though.

Why couldn't McCovey have hit the ball just three feet higher??
