I also remember he hit a homer against the Rockies in the 4th inning of a game in 2001, but it hurt his back a little bit and moving his back became a little painful. When he came up again in the 5th, he tried a bunt hit, but it went foul. So he hit an opposite-way homer.

BOOOOOOOOO
Now look at me. I'm wet nurse to a last-place, dead-to-the-neck-up ball club, and I'm choking to death!

I wasn’t around back when it was relevant, but what did people think of the idea of Bonds bunting against the shift?

I always would have loved it, not sure why he never did it though.

he definitely check-swung to 3b a couple of times
Jonathan Sanchez. He's left-handed, like Barry Zito. His fastball breaks 80, unlike Zito.

That’s his way of bunting while keeping his street cred.

Why bunt around the shift when he usually just homered over it?

It would be funny a couple times but doing it all the time would have been a mistake.

Would it? I think teams would be pretty happy if Bonds settled for one base every AB (especially considering how often they just put him on first anyway)

I dunno. Would Barry be better with a 1.000 OBP?

If Bobby Crosby wore those pants any tighter, we would know what religion he was.

GIDP
38-32 - Giants Series Record: 14-6-3, 10-2 at home
Adopted Giant: Daryl "Dealio" Maday - Mediocre outing. Continues to be a meh pitcher.

6 good innings
I’ll take that, especially after what looked like an awful 1st
Jonathan Sanchez. He's left-handed, like Barry Zito. His fastball breaks 80, unlike Zito.
