You should put “After the Jump” as the only thing in the post.

Bruce Bochy would like you to look at the career numbers and stop complaining.

He said the other day he was a terrible hitter and afraid of the ball in Little League, so he could definitely hit in the middle of this lineup.

So when is the Rowand – leadoff hitter experiment going to end?

If you don’t want to play Ishi against a lefty, whatever. Then put Sandoval at 1st and DH somebody else.

Edgar Renteria hitting fifth might just be the most bizarre thing I have EVER seen in baseball. And that includes Randy Johnson fastballing a bird.

"Catcher are base running. Hitters are offense."
Only [hella] games left until the end of Zito's [no, make that Rowand's] contract.

that said, whenever the giants throw out these weird lineups, they score 4+ runs, go figure.

No Lewis, No Ishi?

Wtf? Bochy, if Aurillia stays in the game against RHP, why the hell wouldn’t you let those guys hit against Lefties? This obsession with Torres (a 31 year old journeyman) is borderline ridiculous. Lewis is the better choice.

Jonathan Sanchez. He's left-handed, like Barry Zito. His fastball breaks 80, unlike Zito.

Whiteside is kinda terrible.

by jcb9 on Jun 24, 2009 6:39 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Both him and Holm are terrible. I wouldn’t be opposed to bringing back Molina for one season ONLY because I don’t think the Giants want Posey up until 2011.

by SFGuy on Jun 24, 2009 6:42 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I prefer Holm. Anecdotally, Holm just looks a lot better when I’ve seen him play. He also has a minor league OBP 50 points higher than Whiteside’s, though.

Torres over Lewis is ridiculous. He’s a 31 year old journeyman. If you had a decent RHB, I understand, but you don’t.

I remember someone in my neighborhood doing that. I looked out and it was a dog doing it.

that’s a good looking dog

Now look at me. I'm wet nurse to a last-place, dead-to-the-neck-up ball club, and I'm choking to death!

It was funny. It was irritating thinking someone kept pushing their car horn, then funny when I saw it was a dog pushing the horn.

Ok, please let this be the new rally pictures

Reminds me of a quote from the great Mitch Hedberg:

I think we should only get 3 honks a month on the car horn, because people honk the car horn too much. 3 honks, that’s the limit. And then someone cuts you off, ffffft, you press your horn, nothing happens. You’re like, “shit! I wish I wouldn’t have seen Ricky on the sidewalk!”

Whatcha gonna do, brother, when Bowkermania walks wild on you?

Wow

Is there some sort of Giants code against taking a goddamn pitch? Can we give Carney Lansford back to the A’s?

Jonathan Sanchez. He's left-handed, like Barry Zito. His fastball breaks 80, unlike Zito.

That’s why Matt Downs won’t last long. He takes too many pitches.
