He said the other day he was a terrible hitter and afraid of the ball in Little League, so he could definitely hit in the middle of this lineup.

So when is the Rowand – leadoff hitter experiment going to end?

If you don’t want to play Ishi against a lefty, whatever. Then put Sandoval at 1st and DH somebody else.

Edgar Renteria hitting fifth might just be the most bizarre thing I have EVER seen in baseball. And that includes Randy Johnson fastballing a bird.

"Catcher are base running. Hitters are offense."

that said, whenever the giants throw out these weird lineups, they score 4+ runs, go figure.

No Lewis, No Ishi?

Wtf? Bochy, if Aurillia stays in the game against RHP, why the hell wouldn’t you let those guys hit against Lefties? This obsession with Torres (a 31 year old journeyman) is borderline ridiculous. Lewis is the better choice.

Jonathan Sanchez. He's left-handed, like Barry Zito. His fastball breaks 80, unlike Zito.

Both him and Holm are terrible. I wouldn’t be opposed to bringing back Molina for one season ONLY because I don’t think the Giants want Posey up until 2011.

by SFGuy on Jun 24, 2009 6:42 PM PDT up reply actions

I prefer Holm. Anecdotally, Holm just looks a lot better when I’ve seen him play. He also has a minor league OBP 50 points higher than Whiteside’s, though.
