Bad idea.

Bengie has no experience being the third catcher. Sandoval, OTOH, has been the third catcher for virtually his entire big-league career.

I’m an advocate of getting players in that deserve it from the way they have played that year. Pudge has not earned that spot by that standard. But many people have differing views on what the ASG should mean, so whatever, it really doesn’t matter in the long run.
