I’ve been firmly on the Torres should never start over anybody on this team bandwagon for a long time. Maybe if somebody needs rest. Maybe.

What do we really expect to find out about Torres by starting him? I bet we find out eventually that he’s not very good.

At least give Lewis a chance to prove that he has no place on the team before ostensibly removing him from it.

Well, I guess Newtonian physics does say that the leaver, imparting force on the mountain as he leaves, will cause the mountain to move. Imperceptibly. Still, it’s movement.

Joe Martinez: My fingers are crossed and my palms are together for you.

by cornball on Jun 23, 2009 6:53 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I was assuming that you had tied the mountain to the leaver. As the leaver is perfectly incapable of not leaving, physics demands that he be strong enough to move the mountain in order to accommodate leaving.

I also use black beans, sauteed with onions, hot peppers, garlic, and cumin in the layers, and this time I’m going to try putting some avocados in, too.

Random side discussion!

If you played little league, or play softball, or whatever, what kind of a hitter are you?

In Little League, I almost always hit stuff up the middle. LIne drives and grounders, mostly. Not a lot of power to speak of. I could work a count, though!

For some reason, I always hit the best on pitches that were low and on the outside corner. I could never handle inside stuff.

I always got screwed on defense. I’m a pretty good second or third baseman, but a terrible, terrible outfielder. I have no judgment on fly balls. But in Little League, if you’re a bad outfielder, they assume you’re just bad everywhere, so you get stuck out in right field.

What the hell good would adam kennedy do? This is that list from the Fox guys today….

They have flexibility since Pablo Sandoval can play both corner infield positions. Morosi lists Aubrey Huff, Nick Johnson, Mark DeRosa, Troy Glaus, Luke Scott, Adam Dunn, Felipe Lopez and Adam Kennedy as possible targets for the Giants. Andrew Baggarly wondered earlier today whether Matt Holliday could become a target
