if Wilson was so much better than anyone else in the bullpen, you would be right. However he isn’t, so the way he has struggled in those situations is an important consideration

He isn’t better than anyone else but he is one of our top 2 or 3 relievers, regardless of his struggles. And he’s been lights out lately. He’s a good choice to pitch right now.

the Giants don’t need to care what Brian Wilson thinks about himself. They need to send out the pitcher who gives them the best chance of winning. In this case, Sergio Romo would have been the guy to send out there.
