Is Brock Bond a prospect?
Bond just came off of a 5 for 5 night and is hitting .323 overall in Connecticut (which is no small feet) while playing 2nd base nearly everyday. He has virtually no power but his SO/BB ratio seems very good leading to a .323/.496/.394 line.
Could he be the player the Giants hoped they drafted when they drafted Burriss minus the speed? Is there anyway he can play shortstop and is he a top 30 prospect? If so where in the top 30?

Top 30 Giants prospect for sure, but not top 30 overall prospect.

I had the same thought this morning
But his lack of slugging was disappointing. When I looked closer at his stats I noticed that he has horrendous splits (though he has a very small sample size from right-handed – must not be many lefty pitchers in the EL). It seems like he might want to try purely lefty as his left-handed splits are very nice (.445/.438/.883) considering he plays half his games in Norwich. He is a bit old for the league (24 in Sept.). Also, he’s either very slow, or horrible at reading a pitcher – he’s been caught stealing 10 out of 19 attempts (ouch). I wonder what his D is like?

Would you say is it a " 5 … $5 dallor feet tool"?
Yes, This is still a 79 win squad.

He’s a prospect, but not a likely position starter. Bond gets some points for versatility, but the fact he lacks two of the supplemental offensive tools (speed and power) don’t help. I think his best shot will be as a utility type of player who can come off the bench and provide defense and a bat with a good chance to get on-base in pinch situations, and occasional starter.
