Easy choice for me, get the 360.

But for you, what are you going to get more value/enjoyment out of? How much do you listen to music and how much do you want to be able to listen to it anywhere? Are you a big video game player, and what types of video games do you like?

I second this. Xbox 360 seems like a no-brainer. But like marcello said, it really comes down to what you value more: video games or music.

Xbox 360.

I’m addicted to Xbox Live Arcade and all of its retro cool.

But if you want music over games more, go with the iPod.

It's always Noonan somewhere.

Castle Crashers alone is worth it. Seriously.

iPhone

Everything you like about the iPod touch, with even more functionality!

Srsly, I hate belonging to the “Cult of the i”, but now that they’ve improved the camera, which can now do OCR stuff like business card scanning, it’s pretty much the coolest thing ever.

yeah but if the parents are paying, they probably want something without monthly service charges/fees/etc

Step 1: Ditch 'em

Step 2: FInd better parents

Alternatively, you could start a business, and have it pay for the phone. That’s what I do. Drawback: no games or fun stuff allowed on the “company phone”.

I really wanted to get a 360 as soon as possible but I’m moving out in about a week, and I’d like to budget out enough money for it. You can get the same music out of a lot cheaper players, but a 360 is pretty unique.

I don’t know nuthing bout no technology, but knowing younger folks I’d say go with the x-box. If you get an ipod you’ll want to take it out and show all your friends, drop it in the street, spill RedBull on it and/or lose it in your friends car.

At least with an xbox the thing stays at home! Nobody is going to want to “just see it for a sec” and then feed it to their dog. And like someone else said you can get a $50 mp3 player if you can get by with something simpler, that option doesn’t really exist for a gaming console.

But what do I know, when I was your age, all we had was “Tank” and a Sony (Cassette) Walkman.

when does the new Xbox come out though? It would suck if you bought the 360 only to have the new one come out 6 months later.

My choice would be the Xbox 360.

I don’t have either but I would take the Xbox 360. Seems to be a type to get more enjoyment out of.

Definitely the xBox. when choosing between the two evils of Microsoft and Apple, always choose Microsoft.

I have both

I play my 360 almost every day. It gives me countless hours of entertainment.

My iPod Touch is in a drawer somewhere.
