If you were Sabes and Bochy how would fill out the line-up card?
Personally, I don't want to make a major trade this season because we would have to give up too much. I would much rather keep our top-level minor talent and continue building for the future. Instead, I'm a fan of using our AAAA prospects and add them to our current roster. So, I was thinking, what I would do if I was the Giants Brass? This would be my line-up card:
1. Rowand CF
2. Franny SS
3. Schierholtz RF
4. Panda 3B
5. Bowker LF
6. Molina C
7. Ishikawa 1B
8. Renteria 2B
9. Starting pitcher
I think this line-up is the best we can do within the organization. I've completely given up on Burriss for this year and wouldn't mind seeing Winn as a utility outfielder. Also, I want to keep Lewis on the bench. I'm not impressed with his defense and his bat is seriously hurting. I would keep the starting rotation and bullpen the same as they seem to be doing very well lately. The only possible exception would be Sanchez. He has been struggling this year and might need to be moved to the "pen". I would give him some more time though because he obviously is very talented. If Sanchez is moved then I would give Pucetas a chance or Martinez once he's ready.
How would you guys and girls fill out your line-up card if you were the DecisionMaker for the Giants? And, what do you think of my line-up?

I’m also not sure whether I should have Holm at C instead.

Given how teams rape Holm on the basepaths, I’d prefer if he didn’t catch very much. Whiteside is pretty good though.
They’re all terrible.
Also, my lineup has two players at 2B and no SS, so it’s slightly flawed, especially against RH hitters. I’m going to have to work on that.

the best of what we have
CF – Rowand
RF – Schierholtz
2B – Downs
3B – Sandoval
LF – Bowker
C – Molina
SS – Frandsen
1B – Ishikawa
That’s not an ideal lineup for me, but the best compromise I can come up with. I prefer a stricter lefty-righty alternation, so I view Downs and Schierholtz as ideally swapped 2 and 3, but this creates the balance I prefer.
The hard part for me is deciding whether or not Travis should start at 1B. If he does, then I’m forced to sit Randy Winn and play Bowker in LF. I just think that TI’s defense (and nominal offense from the #8 position) outweighs Randy’s offense and his defense in LF (and yes he’s more valuable in RF, but I have Nate there).
Renteria? Never heard of him….

I still believe Lewis should be in the lineup, but on the basis of splits it doesn’t make sense to have him split time with bowker. In my plan, Bowker waits at AAA until a trade is made or an injury occurs. If winn were to be traded, Bowker, Schierholtz and Lewis would all play 3-4 games a week

I would prefer to get Schierholtz in the lineup everyday, but I haven’t given up on Freddy. Trading Winn or Rowand, or even Molina, would be ideal. But that’s probably not going to happen.
Also, exit stage left Mr. Burriss.

With the current roster:
CF- Rowand
RF – Winn
1B – Sandoval
C – Molina (I’d like to move him down one, but I’m sure he’d pout and slump)
3B – Uribe
LF – Schierholtz / FLew (platoon)
SS – Renteria
2B – Burriss
If we can adjust the MLB roster I’d release Aurilia, send Burriss & FLew to Fresno to play SS and LF everyday; and call up Frandsen, Guzman, and Bowker. Then I’d go with this:
CF- Rowand
RF – Winn / Bowker
3B – Sandoval
C – Molina (I’d like to move him down one, but I’m sure he’d pout and slump)
SS – Uribe
LF – Schierholtz / Bowker
1B – Guzman / Ishi (lefty/righty platoon – if Ishi slumps again go with Jesus full-time)
2B – Frandsen

Molina isn’t in a slump? That’s bad news.
