It’s nice to see that, regardless of outcome, we can always count on Renteria hitting second and Molina hitting fourth. There are so few certainties left in this world.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that pie > cake, that Bochy is endowed by his creator with certain undeniable traits, that among these are veteran man-love, a gigantic skull, and the pursuit of the double switch.
Adopted Giant: Fred Lewis, who can still draw a walk.

Schierholtz: .333/.333/.500 (admittedly in 12 ABs)

Edgar Renteria, on the other hand, can’t hit righties -

2008: .239 / .274 / .324
2009: .232 / .304 / .278

He’s been almost as bad against righties this year as Burriss – and that’s Burriss’s weak side!

HA! Sure Giambi, sure

From SF Gate:

Jason Giambi was in the original lineup and I was talking to him about 10 minutes before we met with manager Bob Geren and he gave no indication he might not be able to go. Then Geren announced Giambi’s out with some tightness in his right calf, which also sidelined him from one start last week. Giambi is available to pinch hit.

I know Giambi feels the cold weather doesn’t agree with him. He thinks his swing will come around as it warms up – of course, June in San Francisco isn’t going to be the place or time for that. I’d expect he’ll be in the lineup tomorrow, however.
