Giants take local pitcher Moran in 41st round
I'm a little biased because I got to see this guy pitch a lot, but he is a very polished arm. Excited he's getting a chance.
"On May 17th the Sonoma State Seawolves were one inning away from their second consecutive trip to the Division II College Baseball World Series. They wouldn't have been that close were it not for their undisputed ace, Gary Moran."

Nice story
I wonder why all the arm troubles if he doesn’t throw fast? Maybe he used to be a flamethrower and he’s learned to take it easy and go for guile over firepower to save his arm? Seems like a good candidate for the Giants’ pen since they have few guys with that good of control (only Romo comes to mind).
Arm trouble
The arm is a delicate thing. I never broke 65 mph, and my arm hurts from playing first base for 20 years from little league to college. I think Moran’s troubles are behind him, he’s had two healthy years since his last injury.
Gary!!!
When did you see Gary pitch? I saw him a bunch too as I attend SSU and have had some classes with Gary.
Gary
I got to do the play by play for the baseball team this year. I’m excited he’ll get a chance, but Ian Bridges and Kris Haycock should also get a shot. GO Seawolves.
