I really hope this is a sign that they may send burriss down to the minors
I don’t think Burriss is going down, and if he’s to stay I think there’s only two possible ways..
- Aurilia DFA’d or traded.
- Torres DFA’d or traded. I don’t like this option but perhaps this is a final tryout for the kid, these few days of regular playing time.
I guess there could be a bigger trade but I doubt it.

Random ridiculous URL story
I once did temp work filing employee paperwork for a company in Chicago. I had to file employee discipline forms, among other things. One day, I filed a form employees who were becoming involved in a relationship with each other had to file. The next day, I filed a discipline for for one of those employees for visiting massive numbers of porn sites on his work computer. The URL that really stuck with me, though? dumpstersluts.com. CLASSY!

Andres Torres is not the answer in left field. Boch has said that left is officially up for grabs, yet Nate Schierholtz has started one game in the last three weeks. I have no problem with Torres being on the team and I understand that Doug Davis is a lefty, but he shouldn’t be getting more starts than Nate under any circumstances.

Actually, this is accurate.
Although, several players have whined about their batting order position with some results (Burriss wasn’t comfortable in the 2 hole, Lewis didn’t like batting lead-off, etc.). I’m not saying the results are necessarily positive. It just confirms that Bochy is pretty clueless.
And before anyone gives him credit for Rowand’s resurgence in the leadoff spot, that was Sabean’s idea.

Uribe’s OPS+ went over 100 last night.
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
PABLO SANDOVAL AM STEAL DEATH, DESTROYER OF WORLDS.
Basically, OPS adjusted for the offensive context (ie, ballpark). How much above/below average. 100 is average, so with 103 (now probably down to 99-100), Uribe is 3% above average.
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
PABLO SANDOVAL AM STEAL DEATH, DESTROYER OF WORLDS.
but...
what does “3% above average” mean, exactly?
It just means the OPS is 3% above the average? Just think of it as > 100 = good and < 100 = bad. Though not always – middle infielder or a CF with a 90ish OPS+ can still be a good player.
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
PABLO SANDOVAL AM STEAL DEATH, DESTROYER OF WORLDS.
There’s a calculation done of lgOBP and lgSLG (essentially, the averages for each park) and then you do some voodoo with them. (The formula is at the link.)

Kevin Frandsen, come back!
The primary where he ran against goddamn Al Chechi and goddamn Jane Harman was the first election I got vote in. SO MUCH FAIL. :(
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that pie > cake, that Bochy is endowed by his creator with certain undeniable traits, that among these are veteran man-love, a gigantic skull, and the pursuit of the double switch.
Adopted Giant: Fred Lewis, who can still draw a walk.
I’m glad Jane Harman didn’t win.

Random true story
During the primary season that year, I got called by a push poll working for Al Chechi’s campaign. The caller was a woman. She tried to flirt with me by talking about how she was bisexual, dated girls, and was cute. It was really surreal.

I voted for Gray Davis. :(
In my defense, I thought he was a worthless moron. Trouble was, they were all worthless morons.

That pretty much sums up every state politician right now.
I am a disillusioned voter.
It's my blarg! Quick Pitch
Without discussing politics in detail, I’d have to say that the financial situation is somewhat untenable at this moment, and there’s not much good work being done to figure it out.
‘Course, my rep is the useless and bloviating Abel Moldonado. So I’m bitter.

“Donado” isn’t Spanish for “outfielder” after all. It actually means “representative”

Oh, I was just making a reference to the old fabled letter to the Chronicle about Candy Maldonado that said “I know that mal is Spanish for bad. Does donaldo mean outfielder?”

I was in Don Perata’s district until he left office. Also, he got carjacked around the corner from me. That’s fun!

In the last decade, I’ve lived in New York, Illinois, and California. It’s hard to find three states with more dysfunctional governments than those.

Wow. Playing him perfectly.

Does Randy go into the hall as a Mariner or D-Back? I know he had more success as a d-back, but I always think of him as a Mariner.
I’d say dback
