another lefty hitting outfielder? They’ll probably pass. Then again, Sabean doesn’t care for Beane, and would hate to see Copeland become a good player for Oakland. In other ex-Giants news, Vinnie Chulk was also DFA’d, and was replaced by Matt Herges. I got a kick out of Herges giving up a HR to the Red Sox the other night and pointing to the sky like it was a harmless popup. Some things never change.

Brett Tomko returned to the majors yesterday with the Yankees. The first batter he faced was Adam Jones. I don’t have to tell you what happened, because you’ve all seen Brett in action.
