Heh ho they love the way I do it
Heh ho there’s really nothing to it
I got the moon I got the cheese
I got the whole damn nation on their knees
I got the rooster I got the crow
I got the ebb I got the flow
I got the sizzle but not the steak
I got the boat but not the lake
I got the sheets but not the bed
I got the jam but not the bread
But heh I’m big in Japan I’m big in Japan I’m big in Japan
I’m big in Japan, I’m big in Japan

when life hands you an opportunity to quote TW . . .
Randy Winn is going to catch that. And he'll do it real classy-like too.

Huh I would've thought he learned Japanese when he played for the Lions for 3 years.
Anyway, good on him!

That’s so awesome, it’s a wonder more minor leaguers don’t do exactly what McClain did. I guess the culture shock is tough but still, what an amazing change from playing in run down minor league stadiums.
On the run from Johnny Law, aint no trip to Cleveland, or San Francisco.

Many of the minor league stadiums are pretty nice now, especially in AAA.
Not all AAAA players can do this though: they’ve got have the kind of power he does, and most AAAA types don’t.
Adoptive Parent of Francisco Peguero. He can throw, he can run, he can hit(fastballs), and he's Dominican. What else do you need to know?

For a long time there were rules as to how many foreign players an NPB team could have on their roster. I don’t know if that’s still in effect. There have been a lot of MLB players going over there this year especially.

Scotty needs a little work on his Japanese…but anywho, congrats to him I hope he makes it big there. Maybe one day he can somehow be eligible for the Japanese WBC team and kick our asses and show us how retarded we were for not giving him a shot.

He played with Seibu for about four seasons and admitted that his Japanese was not good after that time spent there. He had a good sense of humor about it.

I doubt he’s had much opportunity to practice Japanese since he’s been away from Japan for five years.

Also, at any Public Address sort of event, it is standard practice to use an interpreter even if the person is semi-capable in the language, just as an accuracy insurance.
