Maybe I’m being too cautious, but I’m wary about spending a #6 pick on a kid who’s already had arm troubles.

In a draft class with few clear cut top prospects and certainly no consensus other than Stephen Strasburg all picks are coming with wariness. While Scheppers did have an injury it was a stress fracture to shoulder and about a year ago.
Including last night’s start, Scheppers will have six starts in Indy ball. Scouts/medical staff will have plenty of opportunity to judge his performance and health. Tanners is projected as a top of the rotation starter. Scouts have him pitching pain free, stronger and sitting a mid 90’s mph.
