We scored more today then yesterday? Werid

This is definitely not Howry do it!
with the exception of Marmol, it looked like the Cubs’ pitchers were just throwing the ball down the middle of the plate because they know the Giants’ can’t hit. They were right.
Proud new dad of Edgardo errr Edgar Renteria!!!
Aren’t you glad that ownership upgraded offense in the off-season? Oh wait – they didn’t. Bastards.

He lacks verbal and facial expressions. Kinda like a post-game zombie, without all the fun flesh eating.
It's my blarg! Quick Pitch
That's a bit harsh.
I think with some experience he’ll learn to eat flesh just fine.

Silver Lining: We may see some young position players on the big club sooner than we first expected. It’s a shame to waste such a great pitching staff

I suspect that even if the young guys get a call-up, they’ll languish on the bench a la Nate. Or they’ll be useless like Velez or Burriss.
It's my blarg! Quick Pitch
On the club? Maybe. Getting playing time? Doubt it. It took a LONG time last year for Bochy to play the kids.
El Presidente Larry Baer's epitaph
"Nothing important ever happened without me."
I don’t see this happening. No way can you pin the Giants offense fail on Bochy: there’s just no talent here.

I hate the way he handles pitchers, puts together lineups and decides who to pinch hit in certain situations. Obviously he doesn’t deserve all the blame, but as far as I’m concerned, he’s doing nothing to prove he deserves the job.

um
Giants don’t have any young position players in AAA who can hit.
FIRE BRIAN SABEAN... UNLESS HE KEEPS DRAFTING WELL. .. AND SIGNS UNDERRATED PLAYERS LIKE AFFELDT OR PHELPS. .. OR ALRIGHT WHO'S PLAYING WITH THE ALIEN MIND-SWITCHING RAY?

Kung fu Panda can rake. Many here project him to fall back to earth but I just don’t see it. The league adjusted to him and he just adjusted right back in about two weeks. I believe we do indeed have a fat Ichiro on our hands. He’ll hit .300-.330 for the next decade.
Unfortunately, he’ll have only modest power, and you can’t really build an offense around a fat Ichiro.

Something is seriously wrong with that stadium
I read one theory that the open concourses allow more wind in the stadium to carry fly balls further. Because other than that, it’s roughly identical to the old Yankee Stadium

I was at Wrigley
This was my first real chance to see the team outside of a box score. You know, it’s a very sad thing when you are down 3-0 in with 7 innings to go and you think “we don’t have a chance of getting into this game.”
Lincecum for work time happiness tomorrow!

Taco Bell promotions
I noticed flipping around that Taco Bell has a promotion with a few teams, Colorado and Arizona for two, that if that team scores 6 or more runs, people get 4 free tacos with the purchase of large drink the next day.
I guess that would be impossible in SF.
This Giants fan loves him some taco bell

Coming into tonight’s game they were 6-3 at home and 7-8 on the road.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that pie > cake, that Bochy is endowed by his creator with certain undeniable traits, that among these are veteran man-love, a gigantic skull, and the pursuit of the double switch.
Adopted Giant: Fred Lewis, who can still draw a walk.
This game did not put me in a good mood.

The Giants continue to be best in baseball in runs allowed and worst in baseball in runs scored. That’s sort of impressive in a perverse way.

Could be worse – could be worst in runs scored and runs allowed.

silver lining angle: we scored (more than once), pablo continued his tear, lewis hit, nate hit, sanchez pitched terribly but made it to the fifth, and the bullpen remained solid. add a single big bat and this becomes a very scary team. it sounds like we are all open to some fairly radical solutions to that effect.
Please Jesus, don't let us be like the Cubs.

nitpicky overreaction of the night:
wtf, is anyone scouting opponents?
From SFgate game wrap:
In response to Theriot’s homerun, “I don’t go out there thinking I have to get this guy out,” Sanchez said. “I didn’t know he was that hot. For a small guy, I thought he was going to be a groundball or flyball.”
Theriot was 5 for his last 14 coming in, with a triple and 2 homers, and nobody thought to pass along the note “hey Dirty, this guy’s actually swinging the bat well”? Especially when the guy behind him was hitting .115 at the time?
My fantasy team knew he was doing that well!!!

He had one homerun in his last 600 ABs prior to this weekend. Sounds like our team.
Proud father of Dallas Mcpherson, the Babe Ruth of AAA.
To be fair
I think we were trying to convince Dirty to throw the little white thing somewhere in the vicinity of the big white thing on the ground next to the batter. Consideration of hitter tendencies was way, way down the list of things wrong with the pitching performance last night.
Still the loving, adoptive father of Hector Sanchez. And who doesn't love switch-hitting catchers with power and patience?
Ishi
He is now my most frustrating player to watch bat. Needs to take advantage of the drive-able pitches.

i work with the most annoying sports fans: a full blown Boston-is-the-center-of-the-sports-universe Blowhard, a typical Cubs fan who loses train of thought, and a pitiful Dodger fan whose only baseball perspectives are “Barry Sucks” and “MANNY, MANNY, MANNY.” Days like today make me yearn for the days of Reggie Sanders in right field. God I need a new job.
remember when we used to pick up guys like Ellis Burks whenever we needed them? Now we get guys like Juan Uribe.
