That was like your girlfriend saying “no” to a marriage proposal.

A Twitter denial from a chick who dated Brad Penny = fail.

I meant to write a “scoreboard marriage proposal.”

This is why I don’t Tweet.

Not only that, but it wasn't even a kind rejection

Just, “no.”

I’ve found that in general, books with the words “Confessions of…” in the title are shitty and self-gratifying

gun to your head, which book do you read, this one or the new A-Rod book?

A-Rod, easy.

I’m way more interested in pitch-tipping than the marketing of pink baseball apparel.

This one.

The only sports person less interesting to me than Alex Rodriguez is Brett Favre.

The ARod book, but only because I don’t wanna get shot in the head. Most sports books bore me. Not all, but most.

The promo copy sets the tone.

But the object of her affection isn’t the subject of tabloid gossip or an actor; in fact, it isn’t even a guy. It’s a game, a game of nine innings that uses a ball made of leather and cork. A game called baseball.

I’m laughing at this entire post. Well done, all.

I hope Zito dedicates his start to Alyssa Milano and pulls a Yovani Gallardo.

Ouch… poor Barry. Should we all be lucky enough to have that be the worst thing that happens to us though.

I had the same thought,

luddite that I am. It is the first time I have read a twit, and, frankly, it will be the last.

Who the $^&* cares what movie Zito is watching? He went to bed at 9:30? This is totally asinine, on par with a computer game in which persons create avatars of themselves and get jobs and raise kids.

I’m far from a luddite and I think Twitter is staggeringly stupid. I can see using it for breaking news updates on things that matter, but most of Twitter is not used for this purpose. What really gets me is the Twitter aggregators people post on their blogs. It’s not just reading about what you had for lunch anymore. It’s out-of-context, irrelevant things that make sense only to that person. Why would I be interested in this, or even understand it?

Keep in mind I’ve been keeping a personal blog for the last eight years of my life. That is a pretty large waste of time, when you get down to it. But my blog isn’t filled with 140 character nonsense bullshit. Just epic complaints, some XXX rated literature, and stupid photos of things. Oh and recipes.

Tease!

All that content, and no link. You are never going to make it like Peter Gammons or George Will unless you become a much, much better self-promoter.

Self-blogging is an interesting phenomenon; as you say basically a semi-public journal. And somewhere the slash and recipes could be useful to someone, as for the complaints. Sometimes GIS dredge up a rant on a blog that has a link to useful information. Your motives for posting may be essentially self-driven, but others might get something out of it.

140 character lameoid haiku? Not so much.

At one point I regularly peddled gay smut to the masses but I don’t do that anymore. I’m trying to write a gay smut novel and publish it all legit like, but it’s hard to do that when you haven’t written more than a paragraph of fiction in eight months or so. Basically all there is now in the slash well are the dirty stories a friend sends me to read. Woe.
