Bryce Harper (Move Over Buster Posey?)
This kid is a high school sophomore catcher (3B is secondary position) and apparently has every tool known to man and then some. (Links to YouTube videos in article).
I know--there's probably only like a 5% chance he actually develops into a quality major leaguer and he's doing this with an alumninum bat but this kid is darn impressive.
Maybe we should tank next year so we can get him in 2011? No, no...just kidding. Really, I'm kidding...

Baseball America
in one of their chats (I think – or maybe it was in one of their Ask BA articles) said that if Strassburg and Harper were in the minors as they were, right now, they’d rank as the #1 and #2 overall prospects in all of baseball.
Still the loving, adoptive father of Hector Sanchez. And who doesn't love switch-hitting catchers with power and patience?

Harper over Wieters?
Proud father of Barry Zito. As long as he keeps throwing strikes, that is.

Basically
Strassburg #3 & Harper #4 behind Price/Weiters. Remembered incorrectly – but a pretty major indication of Harper’s talent level.

Hmmm…We should start a pool on who will have the worst record next season to earn the right to draft him. Nationals have decent offense, young pitching, and $$$ to blow on FAs so I don’t think they will be this bad next year. I am thinking the Astros are early favorites. Maybe the A’s if their youngsters in the rotation don’t work out

Astros, maybe the Padres. Pittsburgh is always bad and it doesn’t look like Alvarez will be helping them any time soon.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that pie > cake, that Bochy is endowed by his creator with certain undeniable traits, that among these are veteran man-love, a gigantic skull, and the pursuit of the double switch.
Adopted Giant: Fred Lewis, who can still draw a walk.

I would take the A's or the Padres
Both teams are really bad and don’t have much of hope of getting better next year (both because they have no prospects expected to contribute that quickly and because they have no money to spend), they will both likely get worse by trading Peavy, and Holliday, and who knows who else.

This works for the Astros too
They’re currently .400 and they have the worst minor league system anywhere.

Arguably the Indians Carlos Santana is better than Posey. He’s got a near 1.000 OPS in AA, BB more than he SO, and he’s pretty good defensively too.

I have a friend who has played in travel ball tournaments against Harper
He swears that he has never seen him NOT hit a ball hard.
waiting for 2011....
